That overrated thread at RedCafe is hilarious reading.
Shouts for Gerrard, Zidane, Figo, Buffon, Drogba, Seedorf, Bergkamp.
Jesus wept, it's like they were blinded by other football games going on while they were sleep walking titles to 75-85 points in a shit era of the PL.
I mean, to be fair, Drogba is marginally over rated IMO - great in the big Cup games, but only ever scored 20 goals twice for Chelsea despite them constantly challenging for the league. A Top 10 striker in PL history? Probably not - yet people constantly have him in the top 10 strikers in the league's history and rank him higher than Suarez/RvN/RvP/God due to Chelsea's success despite his lack of goal scoring (not many strikers get out scored by a MIDFIELDER in their team 7 seasons out of the 9 they were there).
I think you could also make an argument for Figo being possibly the weakest winner of the Ballon D'or of the last 20 years (he won it the year that Depor beat Barce to La Liga, Zidane & Henry walked over Portugal in the Euros and Real without him won the CL with Macca winning MOTM in the final and then being replaced by Figo, who never played that well in a big match for Real), but that's another argument and he isn't, broadly, over rated.
Edit - Scrap the point about Figo - forgot Owen somehow won the 2001 ballon d'or
