Yeah would be odd as it feels like doing well there wouldn't stop him getting a job at say Bayern, Real, us next, which I'm guessing is the aim for him soon. With Gerrard you could understand it a bit going to Villa as couldn't imagine him going from Rangers to us given the quality of the Scottish League

Given Potter's issues with getting his teams to score goals, selling their only goalscorer after hiring him probably wouldn't be the wisest choice.

Potter was an idiot for going to Chelsea though. I said at the time he should have waited for the Spurs job or similar to come up, it would have been much more of a natural fit. I'd imagine his stock has fallen enough for him not to be considered though now.

I think Newcastle are going about their recruitment smarter than blowing £100 million and god knows how much in wages on a 30 year old with dodgy ankles. It's United or Chelsea I reckon.

I actually think I want United to go for him because the alternative could be them getting Osimhen who in my opinion has much more of an upside.
