Feel the need to vent my anger here again, prior to venting it with my daughters school.
My 5 year old daughter needs the toilet a lot. We've been to the doctors about it but they just advise us to give her cranberry juice as apparently it helps, and don't seem to interested in doing anything else. We've also mentioned it to the school nurse, so they are aware of this. When we go out shopping we'll sometimes have to take her to the toilet 3 or 4 times in an hour. However, I've just been told by the wife that the school are telling the children that they are not allowed to go to the toilet after lunch, and until their next break. For anyone, particularly kids, this is wrong. My daughter is currently with her grandmother (not happy about that either, but thats another story discussed elsewhere in this thread) - apparently everytime she goes to the toilet she's crying for a while afterwards but won't say why - might be completely unconnected but wondering whether its because she's being told off at school for going. This is one complaint I have to make next week.
The other is about bullying. There are a couple of kids that enjoy pushing other smaller kids around. Our daughter has complained a couple of times to us that she has been pushed over by these kids. My wife was just talking to the parent of one of our daughters friends who said her daughter is also being bullied, both physically and verbally. We tell our daughter that if she is bullied she is to tell the teacher. However, I have again just been told that the teacher reported to my wife that our daughter keeps "telling tales" on the other kids. The other parent has also just said that he daughter is scared to tell the teacher because she'll get a sad face (if the kids are good they get a smily face, if they are naughty they get a sad face, on a sticker I believe). WTF!!! So now they are basically told off for reporting that they're being bullied. Should I instead be telling my daughter to give them a swift kick?
Now I've heard all this I'll be writing to the school, and am going to arrange to see the head teacher. I'm not having my daughter being scared to go to the toilet and being bullied.
