Whoever you play and when, it doesn't really diminish winning the trophy. The draws are luck and nothing you can do about it (either easy or hard).

They are.... until you recall the draw at OT, with a giggling Schmichael and Dublin glancing into the clear bowl to see where the balls were. And then immediately pulling Utd out at home, after the City v Us draw.

I don't even watch football matches most of the time.

Nevermind watching a cup draw for the League Cup!

No idea what you are on about. Was there loads of controversy over this? Didn't see anything myself but could have easily missed it.

Our 2001 League Cup win was one of the easier ones I can remember (obviously easier to remember ours than other clubs). Only Chelsea from the Premier League and we got to play them at home and early before they maybe would have taken it more seriously.

But the other cups we’ve won, even when we’ve had an ‘easier’ final we’ve normally had to beat one of the top two or three sides in the country to win it. 2006 we took out United. 2012 League Cup we beat Chelsea away and City over two legs. Even back in 1995 we won away at Blackburn along the way.

Don't forget we also had Chelsea in the S/F

Yeah. It looked dubious at the time, and a few posts etc on social media...who knows?
I think it was probably a culmination of a difficult week - drawn v Real in the CL on the Monday, Club put up for sale, and then drawn away to City in the first match after the World Cup,

The media were equally as fawning over Maureen when he won them the cup and Europa in the same season but they ridiculous hype is exactly the reason I didn't want them to win yesterday even with Newcastle being owned by the Saudis.

You wait until next season's predictions, most of the pundits will pick these to win the league!

It looks like the Glazers may be staying though as they haven't been offered enough money by either bid
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

Well at least if they stay we don't become an arm of the Qataris. I'll take that especially when its seemed they were the distant bidding leaders with their pitch.

A degraded stadium, owners taking more money out of the club than any other owners in the league, bedlam at board level is preferable to no victory ever mattering again for the club

3rd round - Rotherham (H)
4th round - Burnley (H)
5th round - Newport (A)
Quarter Final - Swansea (A)
Semi-Final - Brighton (Wembley)
Final - Watford (Wembley)

Unreal when you think about it.

Have they seriously awarded Rashford that goal?  How does that work?  Bookies need a definitive answer as they will no doubt will have had to pay out quite a bit on Rashford as an 'anytime scorer'.

That's one of the best semi-finals I've ever been to. I think it's massively under rated when people talk about big games and days out in the last 20 years.

I thought that 2006 game v Chelsea we won easily. Was great meeting them again and to do so by being the better team rather than a back-to- wall job.

Great atmosphere that day. Was brilliant it being at Old Trafford. Quick dash home after the game and out in town afterwards. Happy days and arguably more fun the the actual FA Cup Final.

Thankfully they have yes.

Bookies run off Opta stats, so if Opta award it then bookies pay out. It was credited to Rashford in the first instance, then changed to an OG at half time. Word came out around 10.30 or so on Sunday evening that it had been officially given to Rashford so bookies paid out accordingly. I'm delighted as it won me £800  :D
It won't have just been anytime scorer bets either. There's shot on target, Weghorst assist bets too.
Normally with own goals, it gets given to the attacker if the shot was on target. This one most definitely wasn't so I've no idea why it was changed.

Was a great day - spent the afternoon in Sam Platts (my future wife was in there with her mate who later that year introduced us to each other but I didn't see her that day), we fully deserved the win.

After the final, we went for some scran after the game, got chatting to some West Ham fans, did feel like we'd robbed them that day.

Since November 2003 we've played them 21 times at Anfield, all competitions, and they've scored 2 in a game twice.

Quite simply, if we score 2 goals we most likely win, and almost definitely won't lose.

Hopefully we don't put David James in nets!
