Anyone remember Carragher at full back? Shudder.

He was god-awful at fullback.

He could defend but this was helped by the fact that he never went beyond the half way line. Don't recall too many assists for goals neither

Assisted the equaliser (his shot deflected off a defender) against Boro in 08-09 late in the game when Gerrard scored the winner, if that counts :D

my favourite torres goal - the incredible volley, pretty sure carra put in the pass (from in our half)

but yeah, dont recall many, wasn't why he was in the squad tho was it

Hmm. I seem to recall the Carra Henchoz Hyypia Babbel backline being pretty solid, and we didn't really expect him to create did we? Be interesting to see modern stats for that period

David Villa selects Trent in his best XI currently

“He is fast, defends well and has great attacking ability with his crossing and set piece play. There aren’t many players that have better qualifications in this position currently.''

Not once did they concede less than 30 goals in the league. For all of Alexander-Arnold's weaknesses, he became a regular in a side that first made a CL-final, the season after won it, got 97 points and conceded 22 goals in the league, while setting a new record for assists for a fullback. I know which player I'd rather have in my team.

It's absurd to expect someone as influential to our attack to be Baresi in defence as well, he's probably the least protected player in our team as Salah is playing as a striker on his side, and yet he's more than decent enough and part of an excellent defence.

  ::)

Did he really?? fucking hell

Like doing a review of a Lamborghini and spending all your time on the lack of luggage space

He's part of a back 4 that's conceded the 3rd least goals in the league. Think I'm right in saying we've caught people offside more than any other team ... so how can his defending be bad?!

And he's doing this at the same time as creating more xA than any other player in the ENTIRE league other than Kevin De Bruyne from fucking full back ??!!!!!!!!!!!

Then refused to play fullback in the return fixture,  Skrtel played there instead, had a mare and we lost 2-0 IIRC. One of the major factors in losing the league that season. Good old Carra.

And was part of the best defence in the league last season, players like Neville and Carragher are simply jealous, TAA has a load more talent than they could ever wish to have, plus is already winning trophies at the highest level, he will go down as a footballing great, these other two despite there accolades dm honours were nowhere near being of that ilk, its jealousy simple as that.

I still remember being concerned why we were depending only on a young rookie rightback from the youth team and binning off Clyne....

Trent is at 1 assist in 3.

To put that into perspective, Gerrard was 1 in 5. Scholes was 1 in 9, Giggs was 1 in 4, Farbegas was 1 in 3.

He already has more PL assists than Xabi Alonso.

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

Normally a player can look great on tubes, but one of the things that's encouraging for me is just the amount of youtube videos on him
