Osi and Jason Taylor both got carted off the field tonight during preseason games.

As a Giants fan, the fact that Osi might be out for the year makes me want to crap my pants, and/or get Stray back.

Sounds as though the Skins got lucky... whole reason they traded for Taylor is b/c their other DE went down for the year during training camp. Sounds as though Taylor just strained his knee, and is prob. out 10 - 15 days. May miss the first game, but sounds like that is about it.

Apparently Jags OT Rich Collier is in critical condition after being shot this morning :(

Hope this isn't true - he was really close to getting the starters job over Barnes this year

This, along with Taylors arrest the other day has not been great preparations for the start of the season

Get well soon Richard :'(

my personal "victims of note" of the 53 man roster cuts:

RB Kenneth Darby DT Dre Moore, QB Chris Simms OT Willie Anderson  RB Rudi Johnson;  CB Deltha O’Neal.  LB Ahmad Brooks  WR Maurice Purify, and WR Mario Urrutia.
Adam Archuleta’s switch to outside linebacker was short lived as he was cut by the Raiders on Saturday.

WR Mike Hass  Conrad Bolston  Joey Haynos   Clifford Russell.

The Detroit Lions announced Saturday that they have placed RB Brian Calhoun and RB Aveion Cason on the Reserved/Injured list

LB Darnell Bing; S Greg Blue; LB Buster Davis;  QB Drew Henson  LB Leon Joe

BenJarvus Green-Ellis, linebackers Victor Hobson

Keon Lattimore,

Backup quarterbacks Jared Lorenzen and Quinn Gray were among the players waived by the Colts

Darius Reynaud; WR Bobby Sippio  QB Andre’ Woodson  Marcus Monk

The contract of S Stuart Schweigert was terminated by the Giants

The Eagles cut veteran defensive end Jerome McDougle

sooooo mad that Deltha went to the pats already

We're four point favorites. Should win I guess, but Washington beat us at home last year. I actually went to that game. Miserably cold, Eli was awful, and it was the last time we saw Shockey wearing Giants blue, since he broke his leg during the game.

Anyway, I'm just looking forward to the season getting underway.

Heart says yes and the head says maybe.

1st game of the season really doesnt have any importance for our guys. Last year we were inches away from starting 0-3 and still went on to win the Superbowl.
Personally, I am just looking forward to seeing how Eli plays after finally clicking during the playoffs.

DA BEARS

Thoroughly looking forward to the incompetent joke that is Ron Turner's playcalling, a 4 win season, the accompanying clamour to pick Tebow and the realisation that GM Angelo couldn't pick his nose...

I'm from New Jersey. Dad raised me a Giants fan. My earliest memory is of Flipper Anderson scoring a TD against us in OT back in the 1989 playoffs to beat us at home. Of course the memories from the next season are much sweeter.

Anyone would think people on here were self-conscious... I meant generally in the UK really.

For the record (rodderzz as you well know), I have been a Pats since before our real glory.

Anyway, got the day off tomorrow so I could stay up for the opener, great to have it back, dare I say it is nice to see a sport that remains at least that little bit proper compared to football these days.

My slightly out there tips:
AFC: Steelers
NFC: Eagles

My head says its the Chargers last/best? chance to win it all.

Oh and the Giants win today because Campbell is shite and I have a feeling they wont give the ball to Portis enough.
