The 9-0 record will be broken. Someone will absolutely pump a relegation side 10-0.
If I were a linesman, I would execute defenders who applauded my offsides.

- Haaland doesn't reach the heights predicted
- As a result, we win the league as City get a few too many draws
- Spurs leap frogs United and pip them to 4th
- Jota, rightly, gets more gametime (about time) and gets the Golden Boot
- Nunez loses the Golden Boot by a goal, but is top scorer in Europe
- Tsimi leads the team's assist chart thanks to Jota and Nunez upfront

Liverpool are going to win the Premier League 2022/23.

I'm usually one of the most pessimistic dudes around, but i have this feeling building up for quite some time after the end of the season + seeing the recent movements  in the transfer window

teams rarely three-peat, even City's centurions/domestic treble team failed ...
city are losing depth players who are already used to his system...
new signings usually take time for them to settle...
Salah/Diaz with a mid-season break & we still have a settled top team...
The change is cast

Champions, the cups depends on who we get in the draws. Champions league I hope we go all the way and win this time
If my assistant had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off goalkeeper Patr Cheh. he beeped me to signal the foul. The noise from the crowd  stopped me hearing it, I have been involved at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Old Trafford, Arsenal, but I've never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

Haaland to flop, the PL to finally finish their investigation and Abu Dhabi actually get punished for what they’ve done.

Otherwise, Liverpool to pip Abu Dhabi for the title and a mammoth scramble for 3rd/4th between Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Everton to narrowly fail in their bid for 4th place( from the bottom).

I don’t see us winning the league unless we can cut out the draws. Losing Mane will leave a big hole. It will be a bit much to expect Nunez to have an instant impact.

Our midfield was the area where I wanted us to improve but we haven’t.

We will win the league.

It’ll be a level pegging start up until World Cup between a few teams, we will take a marginal lead into early in the new calendar year and will stay in the cups until then. City will have a major blip, we will have managed our squad well again, Nunes will be coming into his own and we will make a decision (without telling anyone) to go for the league and will win it by 5+ points while City, having struggled to work out their best team, will prioritise the CL and will fall at the semi final stage to Real.

We will have the delayed league parade, and Klopp will crown it the best he’s ever seen.

Liverpool PL winners
Man City, Spurs, Arsenal rounding out top 4
Man Utd 6th (oh sorry, you said bold? 8th)
Forest, Leeds, Bournemouth relegated; Fulham and Everton scrape by
Newcastle qualifies for Europa
Bayern CL winners, Sadio top scorer
Chelsea FA Cup winners
Man City League Cup winners
Haaland to score twice as City win the charity shield, media loses shit. Misses half of season through injury, scores 12 PL goals or thereabouts.
Salah golden boot and player of the season
Darwin eased in, scores ~10 PL goals and is labelled a flop. Scores 25 next season
Qatar still a corrupt shithole where nothing of importance happens

Haven't been following the off-season so I have NO IDEA of transfers- except the Nunez transfer for us. I also don't follow news on other teams, but I thought Chelsea was still waiting for a buyer!?

Anyway, they're far behind us, in terms of momentum and drive. It's between us and City- and City will be affected by last season's run (the fabled 2nd-season syndrome, like in our league-winning season), we will be unstoppable, having lost it at the death (like in our league-winning season)- so I'm basically sure we'll win it. Our patterns will be a bit different, seeing we have a real striker up front now - coupled with the new personnel we have, teams with take a while to adjust(as they would to others, but we were runners-up after all). By that time, I suspect we'll be in pole position.

This season is, potentially, more of a transition year for us given the departure of Mane and Firmino's (seeming) decline - in terms of actual availability and where he sits in the pecking order if not on pitch performances. Plus there'll probably be more reliance on Jones, Elliot and potentially Carvalho in midfield. It'd obviously be amazing if the forwards caught fire and we were as dominate as we've been but I'm prepared for us to be worse this year.

So I'm predicting us to get points in the 80s, hopefully high 80s but I wouldn't be surprised by low to mid, and for City to win the league relatively comfortably. Hopefully we can put it together in the CL and Klopp can work out a way to make us function properly against Madrid.

Liverpool and City to have 'transitional years' by our standards so the leagues won with 86-90 points.

This might open up the potential for 3rd place to be in the title race relatively late on, whether they take advantage of that? Not so sure.

To be honest I don't even see a side other than us and City being able to get 86 points, let alone 90.

I highly doubt it too, but I do think the door will be left open slightly for someone else if they get a good run together.

Not sure I agree. 86-90 puts you on the list of the truly best teams we have had for a long while. Us and City have distorted the figure, any team still needs to be as good as most other title winning teams there have been to win on that many points.

The only way others have a chance is if us and City get 80 points.

Chelsea will be the team to beat to the title.

Newcastle will not continue their winning streak and will have to avoid relegation.

Everton will revert to mid table dross.

Just listening to the latest guardian pod, seems "Liverpool to struggle" is a common Bold Prediction, pretty remarkable what that CL final and Darwin not scoring a goal every 30 minutes in preseason has done to our lustre! Man City still "on another level" of course, apparently their outgoings don't matter. Looking forward to all the salty tears.

It was the same last season.
We were universally, roundly predicted by punditry and rival fans/personalities to finish 4th and in a few instances- 5th.

Yeah... I'll take their predictions of a "struggle" again! ;D

The only thing that will stop us winning the league this season, are injuries- after the run we had last season, so we need to be careful since it undid us after our last league win(2nd-season syndrome- something I predict City will go through this coming season), but I'm sure we're aware of that. I'm sure City will be more prone to burn-out and niggly injuries than us, seeing as they were dead on their feet in those last 4 fixtures, while we could still go for plenty.

This team... they have a desire to win and to beat City, especially, to the title. They have their marker... they will do everything to win it- like the last time we ended up 1 point behind City. Big Virg and Hendo were the relentless whip masters during that run, they will do so again- trying to make sure we didn;t drop a point anywhere. They won't let their teammates "rest". I'm sure of that.

Happens every year. City on another level but finish one point ahead of us and we went further in every cup competition.

People will be predicting us out of the top 2 in all the predictions after finishing the season saying we will be top 2 until Klopp leaves. The same pundits will then be saying we have underachieved if we don't win the league. They are clueless kneejerkers.

Depends on how quickly the attack hits a good level. We've been blessed with the consistent quality,  threat and goal contributions of Salah and Mane for years,  from wide.

That opens up the centre of the pitch for the rest.  Firmino and Jota aren't world beaters,  but benefitted immensely from the spaces the threat from wide opened up for them to then contribute in their own ways.

This dynamic now is getting built anew.  Salah needs to prove he still has that best physical level in his locker if he's to be the player of the past few years,  Diaz is great on the dribble,  can contribute,  but can he do that to the level of Mane over a season?

Nunez starts new,  Jota's level and contributions will be more dependent on the side rather than the individual threat Diaz and prime Salah provide.

Would wait for info on these things over the first months of the season for a better read on the season.

Yeah with Ancelotti there... they are a difficult team to beat.
Hopefully, we can do the bizzy this time around with our brand new striker(who I think was bought specifically due to this defeat- I think we struggle without a real central striker in finals), and stash them in "File 13" finally.

Forest to be the Brentford/Stoke 'surprise package' of the promoted sides. Fulham and B'mouth to struggle [twas ever thus]. The 3rd relegation place to depend on how Leeds new signings adapt but if they hit the ground running then....it's a terrible time, for being a blue....

Few random ones

Arsenal win away against one of the Manchester clubs, whenever that last happened.

One of the promoted teams will beat Man City.

Van Dijk gets the winning goal against Everton (that would be SO sweet!)

Watford sack their manager before any of the Premier League clubs do so.

We will score a normal time goal in a final (if we reach one) to silence the naysayers.

My favourite all time LFC player? Tough choice.

I think we will win the league as the WC has a way bigger impact on City Squad than ours, with 15 players going and only 6-8 going of ours (Firmino and Konate may not get called up)

I think Spurs win a cup under Conte, finally ending their trophy less run

I think Chelsea will miss out on Top 4 with Spurs and Arsenal getting 3rd and 4th

Nottingham and Leeds will finish in top half of the table.
Conte and Arteta will be sacked before the end of the season.
Westham will have a disaster of a season and they'll barely avoid relegation.
Fulham will almost mathematically guarantee relegation by Christmas time.
Ten Hag and Tuchel will literally fight during the Chelsea-Utd match.
