Any word on when the Ken Livingstone hearing gets out?

Clearly he has brought, and continues to bring, the Labour Party into disrepute with his absolute arsehole-ery so it should be a relatively cut and dry case.

The Party will be better off for it, in much the same way it was when Galloway was fucked off. If his former colleagues, McDonnell and Corbyn could do the same that would also be grand

Media bias or just Corbyn's shambolic office? You decide. Or better still, ask one of the journalists (Buzzfeed's UK politics one in this case).

Yep - some more comments from journalists:

@SamCoatesTimes
This. Every Lab MP should read this & be embarrassed. The Lib Dems do vg rebuttal, quotes and opposition research...
... while Labour aren't on the pitch. They aren't pitching opposition stories, bothered about getting into papers, or pushing message
Lib Dems provide material at speed, they are creative, know their way around government, and work hard. From where I sit Lab minimal effort

@PolhomeEditor
Rudd internet summit prime example. Lib Dem (and Yvette Cooper as Home Affair Comm chair) had reactions out quickly. Nothing from D Abbott.

@MatthewWells
This is so true. It was a LibDem statement that got the Article 50/security trade-off story going

Who would have thought it?

Hiring a competent and rational press team yields better results than hiring people based on whether they hold similar views about Sinn Fein as you or who their dad is.

Londoners views of Corbyn and Khan:

Looks like Corbyn is doing a storming job chasing the UKIP vote in London.

Good to see the approval ratings Sadiq Khan is getting even amongst Conservatives (not that there's been much to disapprove of at this stage).

Good to see Khan has positive approval ratings with every age group, men and women and voters for every major political party. Except for UKIP of course, no prizes for guessing why they don't like him.

Pretty much confirms as well that Labour's electoral success in London is very much in spite of Corbyn rather than because of him.

Yet despite UKIP voters not liking a Muslim mayor, Corbyn still polls worse. Must be the right wing media with their bias towards Muslim socialists.

The problem is that to his supporters none of this is real. It's fake polling, it's the media, it's the PLP, it's Blair and Mandelaon and it's people like me not supporting him - as if that would change the opinion of anyone who watches him and listens to what he says.

They've had a policy of publishing opinion pieces from across the political spectrum. That piece is essentially saying what most of us say though: He knows Corbyn is useless (can't give speeches, can't get his message across, has personal issues that lose by-elections etc), but if the Tories fuck up enough over Brexit there's a slim chance he might win.

That's true. How do you make Brexit a point of difference when you whipped your party through the lobbies with the Tories? Especially if you're known as anti-EU and behaved in a shambolic half-hearted way during the referendum campaign.

If the public mood over Brexit changes it won't be over how it's handled, it will be the growing realisation that leaving the EU itself is a disaster.

Read these 19 tweets from Paul Waugh. For those unfamiliar, Paul Waugh is a hugely respected, impartial and measure Westminster journalist.

I've never seen him swear before, he's always very calm. This is just so baffling stupid from Corbyn's cronies

For proof of how utterly unprofessional, time-wasting + downright shite some of Labour’s Shadow Cabinet really are, read on. (1/19)

That's a good way to maintain a good relationship with what should be a friendly journalist. Really silly thing is that, even if you felt it was right to shaft the HuffPost, you'd not bet against this lot doing it in favour of The Canary or The Morning Star.

Oh Frome are starting their own Momentum group next Friday in Frome at the Cheese and Grain I will be popping down to that.

Mind you it will be hard in Frome we are run by Independents that use a mixture of Jeremys Labour and Green policies anyway and its changed the face of Frome since they took over.

And Somerset usually a very Tory area apart from when the Lib/dems won some with the badger killer David Heath.

But I guess it maybe easier to get people that voted for Independents for Frome (IFS) to vote for Labour in the General election.

Corbyn supporters to launch in Frome

A LAUNCH party will be held for a local Momentum group at the Cheese and Grain next Friday.

The political group, which is rallying nationwide to support Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, will start a group for the Frome and Somerton constituency with an event at the Cheese and Grain  on Friday 7th April from 7pm.

The group’s Dave Clark said, “Labour Party membership in our constituency of Frome and Somerton has soared from 180 to around 1,000. Most of these new members joined the Labour Party because of Jeremy Corbyn’s election as leader.

“It is fair to say that ever since Corbyn’s election the corporate media (and many within the Labour Party itself) have sought to remove him as leader, to vilify and smear.

“This treatment has spread to include the many thousands of Corbyn supporters who have been referred to as ‘£3 Trots’ and ‘Nazi Stormtroopers’ amongst many other colourful epithets. Tom Watson has expressed fear of a Momentum takeover of Labour.

“Momentum evolved out of Jeremy Corbyn’s 2015 Labour leadership bid to build on the energy and enthusiasm generated by the campaign.

“Momentum is a network of over 20,000 members, 150 local groups and 200,000 supporters who are committed to electing a Labour Government and building a fair society that leaves no-one behind.

“What does Momentum want to do? Organise with communities across the country to put forward Labour’s ambitious plan for Britain and secure a Labour Government that:

“• Redistributes wealth and power from the few to the many;

“• Puts people and planet before profit and narrow corporate interests;

“• Builds a society free from all types of discrimination;

“• Invests to create high-quality jobs and infrastructure;

“• Reverses the privatisation of railways, the energy sector and public services;

“• Provides protection at work and strong collective bargaining to end workplace injustices;

“• Provides decent homes for all in both the public and private sector.

“• Transform Labour into a more open, member- led party capable of winning elections.

“• Bring together individuals and groups in our workplaces and communities to campaign and organise on the issues that matter to us.

“To that end we are having a do at the Grain Bar, Cheese and Grain, Frome on 7th April, 7pm.

“This is not a meeting, it’s a party!”

This sums it up:

Quote
Left Unity in order to join the Labour Party and Momentum2 - has published a rather hyped-up report, according to which there were about 500 people present, which meant “it was standing room only at the plenary sessions”.3 But the author fails to mention that the organisers had only put out 100 chairs.

Any chance you could raise a suggestion for the Frome Momentum meeting agenda? Can you suggest that all Momentum people present end their Labour Party membership (if they have one) please?

Surely by now the facade is over, and the gig is up. Just make a new party and do Labour the favour of not interfering with them.

How is this post in any way helpful?

Fair comment, it probably isn't.

I am keen that Labour's membership moves away from supporting Corbyn, for the sake of the party's future. That means I would advocate Momentum members leaving and creating their own party, rather than working against the interests of the party they purport to support, as has been evident. Hence wanting them to discuss their future relationship with the Labour Party.

It almost certainly won't achieve anything, and perhaps could have phrased it more sympathetically, but is there an obligation that posts are helpful?

Listening to those polls being read out on the Daily Politics were beyond depressing today. Nutall with a higher approval rating among Londoners than Corbyn...

Fully expect the local elections to be a shambles, that's when he definitely needs to step down. Right now we're going into the next General Election with no chance. It's likely that'll still be the case even with a new leader but we might as well roll the dice and see if anything changes.

Still, Foot turned out ok in the end..... didn't he?

“• Redistributes wealth and power from the few to the many;

Second from bottom of their wish list. Can't say I'm surprised.
