we've not missed Allen,  if anything he will disrupt the team at the moment as the midfield has stabilised itself with consistant starts instead of tinkering formations

You're right that we haven't missed him. You're wrong IMO about the need for consistent starts. We have too many games for our players to play the full 90 for every game, Allen will be needed.

Allen features in some of the training pictures from today. Don't know how close to retuning to action he is, but he's at least training.

Agreed, I'd really like to see him get some minutes against Bolton, if only to give Henderson or Lucas a break.

Anything on Sturridge?

Not available this weekend was all that was said

Found a quote from James Pearce talking about it

'James: “It’s a possibility that Sturridge will be back for the Chelsea game. Rodgers has been very careful to put any exact date on it, mainly because Liverpool have been stunned previously this season, where they’ve talked about him being on the brink of return and then he breaks down. They’ve been very very careful, making sure they got the world specialists on muscle injuries to access him and make sure this time around they don’t just patch him up and send him back out, they’re hopeful now they’ve got to the root of the problem. He’s had nine of the same type of injuries, which shows he does have some issues there. I would think Sturridge would be on the bench, as long as he doesn’t have any set-backs between now and then. Having someone of his calibre to come on and to try and change things would be a great weapon. If he doesn’t make the Chelsea game, then it’ll be very soon after that – possibly against West Ham.”'

Daniel Sturridge is expected to make his long-awaited Liverpool FC comeback next week – as Brendan Rodgers sounded an ominous warning for Mario Balotelli.

Sturridge will return to full training at Melwood tomorrow having not featured for the Reds since August.

The striker has been slated for an appearance in next weekend's Premier League home clash against West Ham United and could even make the squad for Tuesday's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Chelsea.

“Daniel starts training tomorrow with the team,” said Reds boss Rodgers.

“He had his final rehabilitation with the sports science team today and now it's about getting the condition with football fitness and game fitness.

“We'll see how he is for Tuesday, if he's not ready for Tuesday then he will be back for sure against West Ham next weekend.”

With Sturridge fit is Flano the only injury? Johnson is back, Allen is back and Gerrard should be fit. Even Flano shouldn't be far away.

I have to admit, Sakho has been a lot more solid of late,   he would get the nod from me,  his passing to players (marked) has to be addressed as he puts us under pressure on more than a few occasions,   hes not the only one though, not just singling him out
