Shite news! Just terrible to happen after he's been playing so well.

Feared it would be a month at least. Let's hope it's only 4 weeks.

Ah man rotten luck for him. Everytime he discovers his best form an injury just stops him in his tracks. Hope he can recovers quickly.

Rodgers will have to bite the bullet and move Can into midfield cos the other prospects are underwhelming.

Bad news for him, however, by his bad luck standards it isn't the worst. Fingers crossed we are still in the running for CL / Europa when he comes back.
For us it is another f*ck up though. Well this could well be the making of Joe Allen, it's his moment now.

Definitely not atm. We will have to rotate though later on in the month so I'd hope maybe we can bring in Toure or something at times.

I don't think he will mate. Allen is going to have to play a lot of games.

Looks that way.

Hopefully, but there are some massive games he's going to miss. Southampton away, United at home, City at home, Beşiktaş to name a few. And it's even worse if you consider that our good run coincided with his re-introduction to the team. Going to be a massive loss.

Really?

Do you not think that the doctors might know a thing or 500 more about muscles, ligaments, and medical scanning equipment than that?

Do you not realise how complex the femoral triangle is? The layers of muscle?

Let's just be general and say it's a "groin pull".

So that's the Adductor Magnus, Adductor Brevis, Adductor Longis, the Gracilis, possibly Sartorious, possibly the vastus medialis, the pectineus, as well as the inguinal ligament among other things to look at. Through a scan. It takes a bit of time to get things right so that they don't make the wrong diagnosis.

Mate, I was just being impatient. I looked up the anatomy last night after your "suggestion" (WHICH adductor, hint hint to me). For ONCE I was trying to be 'funny' and you didn't catch it (rather than vice versa).

Btw, that's the whole idea of my 'analogy'. It's complicated but it's not as complicated as deciphering Gnostic texts written on material (papyrus) notorious for not being terribly resilient. It was a 'joke' (not a good one, obviously).

Horrible time to lose him. he was reaching peak form. Now it'll probably be 2-2.5 months before he starts playing to that level again. We get injuries in key areas where we have only one quality option. Sturridge and now Lucas.

We get injuries in every position (Allen, Lallana, Sakho). It only shows in positions that have weak backup.

I never meant it as a dig at Allen, I'm just saying he was injured earlier in the season and we didn't really feel it because we had good quality in that area.

I worry now it's an opportunity for Rodgers to shoehorn Gerrard in. Much rather Allen but I can see It being Gerrard.

That was exactly my point in the first place. Getting injuries in key areas are more devastating for the side. It doesnt show as glaringly if we have an injury in attacking midfield, or CB, or full back, because we arent reliant on one player there.

Lucas is out ? On his current form, that's a big loss for us. He's been superb the last few weeks.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Tbf to Stevie we now have the personnel to play him like last season if we wish, with Henderson +1 pressing higher up and Sturridge and Sterling having the pace to stretch defences and give Gerrard space. Not in a two though.
