Maybe I'm just in denial but it makes more sense that way for me.  He put a big buy out clause in at the time so he was 100% on the verge or leaving. The club gets sold he fucks off but at least he didn't go when the two cancers would have pocketed the money and it would have put the sale in danger. Simple as that id say. Maybe.
From here on in its all FSG's doing. Good or bad they will stand or fall by the decisions they have made in the summer of 2012. Lets hope they have gotten it right.

Torres wanted to go in the summer but hung around until the club was sold so that we would be able to sell the club in the first place and secondly we would get the money to buy a replacement.

Seems such a strange way to quit LFC and the timing left a lot to be desired too, right on the deadline. Best he goes now than carry on going through the motions which is what he's been doing for about a year now. Could have been a Liverpool Legend, already shared a Kop banner with The King, we thought he was one of us but in the end he was just the same as the rest of them......

Its going to be such a shame for him when he realises he left the residence of European Royalty to live in a fancy apartment. Ah Nando lad, European nights will just not be the same where you are heading to...

I'm not going to abuse him as that's pretty pointless and won't change anything.

I'm disappointed that Torres is gone but I can understand after all the broken promises and lies from the old regime why he decided he wanted to go. I just feel that he betrayed us by not sticking it out until the summer.

I thought we were lucky to keep him last summer and that no matter what he'd be gone this summer. The worst aspect of this situation is
(i)  His choice of club
(ii) The timing of it, handing in a transfer request three days before the end of the window
(iii) And the way he's engineered his exit

He was well on his way to being a legend with us and has now gone and sullied his reputation. I'm gutted because he was the one player (apart from Pepe) who I thought was beyond reproach.

No player is bigger than the club and life goes on. I really believe that we are building something great here again, and that exciting times are around the corner under FSG and with Kenny in charge. It's a pity Torres wasn't prepared to stick around for that but that'll be his loss.
