I don't think we will ever find out all of the reasons behind the decision, it seems like he just wanted to be away from here rather then wanting to be at Chlesea, because it seems like we're on more of an ascendancy than they are. So this issue of timing, and choice of clubs almost seems like a red herring. If he wanted to go, he wanted to go, even if it doesn't make a lot of logical sense. He left his beloved boyhood club to win trophies, if he feels Chelsea is where that will happen, if he feels that he can't continue here, if the strategy our new owners rolled out wasn't going to happen quick enough, then I guess he had to go.

I wish him the best, but not with Chelsea. I hope that he ends up in another league soon. Watching him play against us will be tough.

Personal agreements must be done and paperwork filed before 11, they can include on the paperwork "subject to medical' and thats fine, which is lame but still.

A really sad day seeing him go. Fucking hero while he was here. Won't wish him well as I genuinely don't want him to win anything there, but I won't lie, it's hard to see him act like this, leave and the ensuing bitterness towards him.

He'll regret this day, and I take no pleasure from that.

Good post and sums up how I feel. I've not been bothered about him leaving all weekend but when the deal was done, I was pretty gutted because it well and truly spelled the end of the best Liverpool team I've seen. It hurts to think that we were so close to greatness and yet now we've got to start again.
