Chelsea really should pay attention to players before they sign them.

I'm going to put my neck on the line and suggest that they don't quite know what they're buying.

The temperamental thing will be resolved by a change of clubs - the lonely figure will be briefly loved and adopted; a spring will be put into his step. He'll get a few goals.

But the important thing is this: you've got to know how to use him.

Rafa figured out how to use him: he built a formation and tactics around him and by God did it work.

Roy Hodgson didn't work it out and that's a lot of the reason why both are gone.

Spain have never really got the best out of him.

The same will be true with Chelsea: they've got a staggering arsenal of strikers and Torres won't arrive as number one - he'll have to fit into a system moulded around others and he'll have to change the way he plays in order to get results.

For sure, he'll get the best service he could.

But he won't be the centre of attention that he was at Anfield; and at Atletico.

Yet the pressure will still be there, as befits the British record signing.

He's going to have a very hard task to prove himself over the next couple of years - whatever he does in the rest of this season is by-the-by. Let's see where he is in two years' time.

Walk away, Fernando - and you may find the grass was greener in the place you left.
But ye gotta know where ye're just gonna rush in. Ye cannae just rush in anywhere. It looks bad, havin' to rush oout again straight awa'..

I get a strange sense of satisfaction from all this, you know. Utd are pissing themselves, the rent boys are pissing themselves. Yet it seems most of us are destroyed by all this.

Daft, proper daft.

It's right what we've got for Torres; he doesnt want to be here and fucking right we let him go, at the right price. Anyone so deluded to not want to play for the shirt is not wanted here. And we got a very good price!

Laugh away mancs, laugh away rent boys.

Who is Torres? What care you of his lack of loyalty, really? Don't be stupid and don't delude yourself. Who is he? Are we no longer Liverpool F.C. without him? Don't be fucking daft! Footballers don't know loyalty these days (did they ever?) and don't you be so daft as to forget it. We have new "heros", sing it loud and sing it proud for we are Liverpool F.C. We sing because thats what we do, for the time they are here, we sing their name because they give us what we want.

It is us, the supporters/fans, and only us who are loyal, no-one else. See things for what they are and you will never be hurt or upset or feel cheated.

Players come, players go. Liverpool Football Club remains, above all else. Don't be daft, just believe in our bird.

And if you didnt get it, don't be daft. Daft, an old but increasingly underused word when you don't want to say cuntstain!

I think the most we can give him now is the silence he's given us.

Forget the chant. It no longer has a place here and if Chelsea are a proper club, they'll make their own fucking chant.

I want to wish him well I really but I just can't. I don't wish ill for him but I don't want the move to go well. I want him to regret the move and look longingly in our direction and think "Oh my God, What have I done?" as he rots in London.....

He's no longer our player, we owe him nothing.

He shafted us in this transfer window, regardless of previous deeds he's now nothing to me.

Hope his knee explodes before long and Chelsea dont get anything out of their £50m 'investment'.

My new version of the Torres Bounce.

He used to be my favorite Red...Torres, Torres,
He'll never leave the club he said...Torres, Torres,
But now I hope he burns in hell,
And that he tears his ACL,
Fernando's gone but...Liverpool will be fine.

Hes not scouse, he left his home club to come to us to win things, we couldnt do it

Weve won nothing since he came here

Suarez and Carroll excites me more for some reason.

Torres and Drogba, on paper it works , in reality, well see

The Shevchenko comment may not be far off.

Unless they get Benitez in the summer im not too bothered

The fact Chelsea have just taken our chant, put some pretty poor modified lyrics to it just demonstrates everything artificial about the club. The lyrics are just there to taunt us, not support him in anyway.

What are they going to do, sing it to them like this after a game?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rfihh4xrjU

But it comes down to this. He wanted it. So let it be.

He'd probably just shrug his shoulders if it was pointed out to him that he will never come remotely close to getting that level of love and devotion from those c*nts. We're probably just being naieve to think such things actually matter to professional footballers, even those who say it does.

Jesus, this is hitting home now. Cant believe it happened.

Will never be the legend we all thought he was going to be.

Will be sickening to see him in a Chelsea shirt.

I was in denial about his body language all season but looking back, he really seemed to hate being on the pitch for us this year.

Screw you Purslow, Hiring Roy Hodgson was ridiculous.

But anyway, goodbye Torres but we will move on and win Number 19 without you and that will be your loss cos that will be a truly great day. You handled your exit badly but its best for all of us now.

SO BE IT.

See you later Torres disappointed in your conduct throughout this saga but you have your reasons which I will never understand. Interestingly, just seen that Chelsea posted a 70 million loss this year, good chance you left to a club so that won't be in Europe come 2013 when the financial fair play rules kick in.
