One of the best.

He'll probably come out with some platitudes about the club and the Liverpool support and have a few people eating out of his hand again.

Absolutely disgusted by his behaviour.  He'll have one home game with no atmosphere, fickle fans, and those little plastic flags and realise the grass is always greener.

I know even the most ardent Liverpool fan would find it difficult to agree. But don’t you think that Torres has mugged you off even more nicely than Ronaldo did to United?

Don't want to read slings and arrows.  There's a strong case to be made that LFC did not live up to their joint agreed direction and results and imo he has good reason to leave, and we seem to have done quite well in exchange.

But the only way I'd look on him with favour is if it turns out he's hiding an injury and would rather get well on Chelsea's books than ours.

I'll say this:

Thank you very much, Torres. You were a real joy to watch. I hate it that you're leaving, but I will always appreciate what you did when you were here. A real class player. Didn't end the right way, you went to the wrong club etc and that's a real shame. We all deserved better.

I'd be surprised if Torres has an instant change of form back to what he was like 3 years ago.

Remember this guy?

I know he lost he legs when he arrived at Chelsea but Torres could also when he realizes what a blunder he has made and just feels depressed going to training everyday.  Can't say I'd feel too sorry for him anyway on 175k a week

Liverpool nursed you back to health...in the midst of one of it's worst seasons last season, took their time not to rush you back in the 2nd half of the sea don so you could go to the world cup and nursed you yet again this season and this is whist you do?

I am numb about stand it's a good thing. Can't say I am surprised you left but the timing of it was pathetic.

Good riddance.

I can understand his reasons for wanting to go to a club that will help fulfill his ambitions sooner rather than later - for a striker like him, who relies heavily on pace - his window is limited (he is already 27).

But his manner of leaving is nothing short of a disgrace - especially after everything he has said over the years and even as recently as 3 weeks ago. He could have waited till summer - we would have understood and wished him well.

Can't believe that he threw away the bond he had with us - sad that it meant so little.

Fuck you very much Nando !!!

Earlier on I was livid, I hated him, now he's just another player at another club. He gave us some amazing moments and helped get us as close as we have been to landing the PL. To be honest, I expected him to leave after the World Cup so the last 6 months have been a bonus anyway, but I didn't expect him to go to another team in England and I didn't expect he'd manufacture it this way, that's what's most disappointing.

I hope he goes there, wins fuck all and regrets this day for the rest of his life.

erm yes to the tune of £50m.

More specifically the timing or lack of it. The time to implement a transfer strategy and identify targets and choose the man from a shortlist and then try be prudent in a financial capacity.

Not 5 days to go and having to spend £35 million on a player that may not have been on the radar till 3 days ago (he may have been on LFC’s radar for over 5 months, but I/you don’t know that). Or do we?

The whole world and its mother knew Ronaldo was going. Thus we had plenty of time to line up a replacement (see A. Valencia).

But £50 million never hurt no-one as well.
