I know it shouldn't, but this made me chuckle

Jos was very keen to get running and went straight out and crashed.

That 97 Tyrell was hawt anyway. And speaking of Jos the Boss, watch out for his son Max, who is ripping up trees in KF3 - World & Euro Champion last season. If he keeps it up, he's going places. Big time.

Jesus, I don't think I've seen footage before. Brundle VERY lucky, especially when you consider accidents like Henry Surtees's recent tragic one...   What year was it in F1 that they made the cockpit walls quite a bit higher, was that 96?

It will come as no suprise that Martin is still suffer from the effects of that accident. Thinking about it, he's actually been involved in a fair few life threatening collisions.

This one at Monaco

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/5HUvfxa_zp8" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/5HUvfxa_zp8</a>

and of course the Austrailian GP in 96

Was a quality driver in his day though whos was a very unlucky (and lucky in some respects) driver. I still can't believe he was given the boot from Benneton in 1993 in prefernece for Patrese.

Manager: Kubica will recover completely

http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/6966718/Manager-Kubica-will-recover-completely

Quote
Robert Kubica's manager is adamant the Pole will return to Formula One as specialists working with him believe he will "recover completely."

Kubica has been out of action since suffering severe injuries when he crashed in the Ronde di Andora Rally in early February.

The Lotus Renault driver underwent four operations to repair the damage, which included reattaching his partially severed right hand.

And although Renault owner Gerard Lopez is not expecting Kubica to race this season, his manager is adamant that it's only a matter of time before the Pole returns to racing.

"He is getting better all the time," Daniele Morelli told Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat.

"His condition has improved significantly. We should be finalising the rehabilitation plans in August, and with the right training, the physical weaknesses will have been treated.

"For the future, we are positive. The specialists believe that Robert will recover completely, and his enthusiasm for racing is the same as before. He is closely following F1.......

Excellent

Quote
........as well as rallies."

Whoa there....

Would take that with a grain of salt.

That sort of PR is exactly what he is paid to do.

As much as he is an amazing driver a partially severed hand is no scratch

Man, that was a trying weekend. Issues in the wet partially resolved, or so we'd thought until the final when again a second off the pace. In the dry probably two tenths off my game which was frustrating. Also dropped it out of the lead when it rained in the fourth race which was less than ideal. The rain had been constant and light, was leading on slicks when from one corner to the next the track went from some grip to no grip. Any other corner except the one I was on I'd have held it as I was expecting it to happen, but aye well.

Disappointingly average weekend, roll on the next race, minus rain.

How was the Murray docco? If it's anything like his autobiography, it'll have been an exceptional insight into the man who retired into full-time F1 commentary.

It was good viewing, with some nice contributions from Hill and Mansell amongst others. I'd say you'd probably have seen a lot of the clips but there were some great old ones from the archives, including him commentating on the manx tt with his dad, and some colour (!) footage of the 1949 British GP that I'd never seen before.

Stunning. Think I read that near enough when it first came out, nigh on 15 years ago. All my F1 books are still boxed up in Ingleland. Murrays, Sid's. Senna Principles of Race Driving, Senna Autobiography, Mansell AutoBio, Fangio AutoBio, Ferrari history, F1 record book, so many I can barely even remember, most collected when I was between 8 and 15. I read Mansell's autobiography before high school.

Watkins' adds its own unique insight into Senna, not many knew of the bond they shared.

Montreal is such an awesome track. With DRS on the last straight and pit straight the action should be quite intense.

Stunned that they are going to the soft and super soft tyres for Canada, they will be pitting every few laps. Should be suitably chaotic.. not to be missed.

Another great book I've just finished reading is the memoirs of Jo Ramirez. He worked for McLaren from the early 80's through all the Prost and Senna years, and somehow managed to stay a friend to both of them! But it's a really fasinating book, about what it's like working in a formula one at the top end. His retirement present from drivers David Coultard and Mika Hakkinen was a Harley Davidson, which he rode away on his retirement! Really enjoyable book.

Excellent. Don't remember having any rain this year yet.
One thing you will discover is that life is based less than you think on what you've learned, and much more than you think on what you have inside you from the very beginning
