Certainly not, it makes you a twat though criticising the atmosphere from the comfort of an armchair in Prague. "SORT IT OUT" you say? Why the fuck don't you come over and help?

Oh yeah, you're not interested in that but I bet you'll happily claim the credit for a great atmosphere and boast to your "Chekski" and "Scum" mates.

People like you and the attitude you have are the problem and you don't even see it.

You going to pay the air fare and hotel bill? - that alone is almost a month's salary.

especially with the 30:1 ratio mentioned above.

Where does that figure come from? Any objective source or just pulled out of a hat?

i dont see why the atmosphere would be of any interest to people who never go the match, apart from to point score against other fans.

Exactly, stop spending the money in the pub and on "merchandise" and come over and show us all how to create a proper atmosphere.

Where does that figure come from? Any objective source or just pulled out of a hat?

From here:

Reckon our support was about 30 OOT to 1 scouser so you are gonna get this sort of support. More fans watch soccer AM than educate themselves. No ale served in the game, because of persistent standing last season. They want the newer supporter more than RTKs not just LFC the FA the lot of them record sales of hot dogs during the game, its getting much worse.

No idea how objective it is, I just used it to say if that was the ratio present at Reading then it's no surprise the soccer AM-style chants were quite loud.

I agree that the no smoking thing is crazy, but:

Are people incapable of singing sat down?
Are people incapable of singing without being leathered?

Rules don't affect atmosphere, people do.

SORT IT OUT!

Standing definitely improves vocal support!
Did elvis sing sitting down?..................even Michelle McManus Stands up!

Everyone is also naturally louder once they have had a drink or 2, especially the shy ones.

so No people are not incapable of singing when sitting down but it certainly helps the singing when standing up.

1968 comeback concert, sang half the songs sitting on a stool.

even Michelle McManus Stands up!

That's because she couldn't get back up again if she sat down

He eventually died sitting down on the shithouse, so it couldn't have been that good for him :)

Yep - gone to the dogs. Glad I left, never going back.

Best you stay away then.

Does anyone else hate these gobshites who want the moon on a stick?  Leave Britain but want to retain as much British culture as they can.  Wants to argue with other British football fans (are they ex-pats too?) in pubs in countries which have nothing to do with it.  You've left Britain, embrace the culture of the country you've moved to.  I think you give up your rights to want to cling on to anything British once you've nailed your colours to the mast like that.  Personally speaking, the day football stops being televised live and only edited hightlights are shown, the happier I'll be.

It's no coincidence that our best atmosphere's of the season at Anfield are Everton, United and European games - where 12,500 are stood all game.

You weren't with/near a fella who was pissed off his tits by any chance? Or was that you ;D? Spent most of the game standing and had a steward come over telling me to sit down or get out but he gave up after a while. The drunken fella did his best to get people going but like you say, most people weren't having it.

I can't stand it when there's some kid giving it the big one and we're in a stand where you know you've got to sit, cos of police and steward activity and the like, and this kid (and two of his sheep-like mates) remain standing or are always the last to sit after an incident (is this sentence the longest ever written?)  It reminds me of when my kids were about 6 and always had to be the last ones to stop clapping.  Even if they're not obstructing my view, (although they nearly always are) my eye is constantly drawn to them to watch for when they sit!

The drunken fella did his best to get people going but like you say, most people weren't having it.

I was actually sitting a couple of seats in front of that fella lool....I think he stretched his vocal chords to the limit that night, especially in the second half...he was losing his voice but kept on going...

...regarding the standing/sitting issue, I have no problem with either of them because I can sing loud either way...but I prefer sitting because I'm a short fella so as you can imagine it's difficult to see anything when there are loads of taller guys standing in front of me...

...regarding the chap in Prague, I have to say this: I come from Greece and this is my 2nd year in Liverpool. I supported Liverpool since I was 7 (watching the team on Match of the Day back home) and ever since I moved here I've only missed a couple of home games altogether (on every competition)...I cannot go to most away games purely because I can't find any tickets...when I do go though I join in with the rest...I certainly dont do the 'easy easy' crap, I watch and follow the proper singing...

...I feel proud to support our club and every time I visit home I tell all my mates of what an experience it is to be at Anfield...I've taught them all the songs, they have bought Liverpool stuff from the online shop and a few of them have visited me here and I took them to the games...even my best mate in Athens, who is an Evertonian, has nothing but praise for Liverpool and is coming in March to experience the atmosphere...he joined the lads at Syntagma last May with me and kept on swearing at the ref until the morning hrs after the final.

When I move back home I will keep on feeling proud of Liverpool and its supporters and will try to visit Anfield as much as possible. But to have the nerve to actually have a go at the fans (as the guy in Prague did) is taking the piss!!!! If you are going to critisise you better do it from here, not from Prague....at the comfort of your couch...

I sat at reading. We were late in and everyone around was already sitting. No point isolating myself to the stewards and getting grief from those behind. Always like that when a large portion of those in the ground don't know the score, sadly.
Balotelli, Falcao, Cavani...

I'll be shocked if it's anyone other Etoo. Etoo or no-one. Simples.

In fact, I'll do you all a favor and ban myself from the January transfer window forum if we get anyone other than Etoo.

It wasn't great in the away end today! Nobody in front of us sang at any stage, nor the crowd to our left. Just moan moan moan as usual. :wanker There was just us and the lads behind us (fellow rawkites) singing plus some in the back left-hand corner. By far the quiestest/crappest atmosphere it has been at Wigan so far IMO!
We are a team of one half.
