VDM, (Think thats better than VDD to be honest) I am not, and I don't think anybody on here is asking for anybody to be banned for having a different opinion - there are more than enough differing opinions in this thread and we get along just fine - it is the taking the piss I can't stand. There are people who know just how far they can go within the rules of the site, but keep pushing and pushing to wind people up. I did report one the other day, a regular arse of a one line poster, but what good does it do? They have thousands of posts and won't be banned because they technically haven't done anything wrong. All that will happen is that a Mod will come on and tell me to stop being thin skinned and ignore them. Like a few of us have said, it is fine to post hiding behind a user name but would they do that if we were in a room together? We all know the answer there. God knows I'm not a tough guy or anything like that, nothing could be further from the truth, but I don't see why it can't be the same in here. If i'd have started spouting off when i first went in the Kop, I would have had me head slapped, and fair enough. I leaned from lads who watched us in the second division, and learned to back up my arguement with facts. They listened and even if we disagreed we had a proper discussion. It's not like that on here though is it..... you seem to be able to post whatever inflamatory crap you like. Maybe I'm too old to 'get' this interweb way of doing things, but it just doesn't sit right.
The trouble is that a lot of the posts are about the equivalent of kids pushing the pub door open , screaming a load of abuse and running away.
Perhaps there should be a general ban on the LFC forum until someone proves over 6 months that they can take part in an adult reasoned argument without reverting to insults and name calling.
This particular thread is closer to what RAWK should be like than most of the rest of the site. In here you can have a discussion without fear of the generic (or geriatric) threats that land in the so-called flagship LFC forum.
I wonder how many of these are genuine fans? I suspect most of them would be lost if you dropped them off at Kirkdale station and told them to walk to Anfield.
As for FS, you aint missing much mate. I have given myself a ban ... and don't think I'll be lifting it until there has been a culling of the cyberbullies and loonies who have basically driven out many of the original "regulars". I'll occasionally lurk. It was lurking that brought me to here today.
There is a world of difference between those who wear their hearts on the sleeve - Like FS - and the ignoramuses that have infected the site.
Eventually the weeds become the majority and choke out all the prize blooms - so all you get is the prettier of the weeds.
