Just out of curiosity, have there been any whispers about where he might end up? I know Kloppo hinted a little that he might retire, but just wondered if there had been any update on his recovery or whether there has been any interest from other clubs. Would be nice if he ended up somewhere like, say, Red Bull Salzburg ;D

I've had a quick look and there's nothing about him in Germany. transfermarkt.de has latest transfer rumours about him from the end of April when apparently the Corriere della Serra reported Lazio and Roma might be interested in him. Haven't seen the original report, but found it quoted in some Italian outlets, but I don't think it was anything substantive, just that they might possibly be looking at him. Can't see him going to Salzburg. Don't think he fits the profile of players they sign.

Wish him the best wherever he ends up though. Was always a player who did his job whenever he was fit (bar the odd mistake every player makes). Will miss him going on his little adventures, but it looks like Jarrell Quansah has been taking a good look at him in training and will take over his role in the future. Joel also comes across as a great person. It was clear he didn't want to be in the spotlight, but at the same time he was always a good sport when Big Virg and others were putting him on the spot.

Also for those lamenting the lap of honour. It wasn't any great shakes. Yeah it was good fun seeing all the kids and players but deffo a case of "after the Lord mayor's show"

Final 10 minutes of the Wolves match - with Anfield singing 'I Feel Fine' to Klopp throughout: https://ok.ru/video/7355470514698?fromTime=2687 (at 86m 40s into the video)

Thanks for them Jason. That final 10 mins of the Jurgen song with seemingly everybody on their feet, clapping and singing was unprecedented at Anfield in its sustained power and volume. And the raised volume when we got the corner was as loud as anything I've ever heard in the ground.

Watching it back I think the camera focused on Jurgen and then Ulla and you could see they were choked Im sure by the warmth generated by the crowd with that non stop 10 minutes ear piercing serenading. I know I was as my own tears flowed.

Also in the telly coverage Jamie Carragher said not many managers get that sort of adulation. Well Jamie, in fact there's actually only been two - the first one a man from Glenbuck and the second this amazing fella from Germany.

What a send off we gave him. And so deserved. A unique man got a uniquely Anfield farewell. So sad but so inspiring.

Thanks for all the great memories Joel, shame we couldn't see him in a red shirt one final time after his injury.

Definitely a character, but most importantly a great footballer and a fantastic defender!

Welcome gaffer!

I think the only way something is actually done is if supporters, not just Liverpool ones, of teams throughout the PL,  start boycotting games, go out to protest etc. They can't ignore that.

However looking at how Spurs and West Ham fans recently embarrassed themselves I think it's blatantly obvious that will never happen. Fans are too busy laughing at Liverpool or Arsenal not winning than actually trying to do something and change the PL.

So at moment we are looking at a fine and that's it.

Absolutely. A paltry fine or a measly few points deduction is what to expect.

The support of Spurs and West Ham, simply in not wanting Arsenal to win who in all fairness deserved it, is pathetic. Similar to ourselves when battling City. Manchester City's useful idiots as I like to call them.

I'm gutted I left the ground before the lap of honour..

It wasn't the fans fault, we had no idea it was happening.

Most would have stayed if it had been announced for sure.

It's hilarious to me when I see threads on redcafe of people saying they should go for Wirtz, Mbappe (before, not anymore) etc. They refuse to accept their position and still think superstars will go there.

They fully deserve their Antony's and Martial's.

It's not the reaction of others that bothers me - I'm so short sighted that I can't see them anyway - it's more that I've lost the stamina and when it's a struggle it's easier to give up. I was regularly doing 45mins of laps non-stop three times a week, and struggling to manage 20 or less feels really dispiriting. I know I'm going to feel better for just going and doing it no matter how much actual exercise is done but it begins to feel like such a long journey back to where I was. (It doesn't help that both my work schedule changed a bit and the pool that I could go to on the way to the office first thing in the morning closed, so threw me off in terms of keeping a routine. Much easier to talk yourself out of it if it's 20mins by bus each way.) Just feels like another thing I want to be good at but am not, or plan to stick to but don't. We're all our own worst enemy sometimes, aren't we?

I had a motivation last year as I wanted to get fit and get practice in in the hope of going snorkelling on holiday - in the end I hurt my foot and couldn't do more than paddle, but I know sticking to it helped me do all the walking I wanted to do. Unfortunately I can't book another trip to somewhere warm enough to swim in the sea for a while (unless Southport is warmer than I remember?)
It's warm enough, it's finding the sea that's the problem.
