Lots of money must be on Denver since Dallas were the original favourite but now they're plus 2.

21-21 in OT G-men driving...

in more important matters, my packers are still alive in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes...

Seattle beat the GMEN 24-21 late in the OT...

Feely had three different chances to win it with a field goal and missed them all (from 40, 54, and 45 yards out).

As a Giants fan, not scared of the Seahawks in the least if they meet in the playoffs.

It should be interesting to see if the Giants can rebound from something like this. Man, that's what I call a devastating loss and that kicker ain't gonna sleep too well tonight.

This year for the Giants is very reminiscent of 1985, where the Giants went 10-6 and lost virtually all their games by a touchdown or less.  The Giants have lost three games this year on opposing FG's (Dallas, Minnesota, Seattle).  They're a good squad, but a year away.  I still believe they'll rebound and win the NFC East.

I almost got sick after the game, to tell you the truth; it was probably the worst loss the Giants have had since the San Francisco 39-38 playoff game in 2002

On another note, Joe Theismann on Sunday Night Football officially used the term "Reggie Bush sweepstakes" for the first time.

Houston is in the lead with a 1-10 mark, and the Niners and Packers are at 2-9.  The Jets and Saints are currently playing now to see who pulls within one game of Houston for Bush's signature.

With the Jets-Saints game now over, here's the Week 12 scoreboard, with some tremendous finishes:

Tennessee 33, San Francisco 22 (Titans take themselves virtually out of contention for Reggie Bush; Niners are right there in the fight for the top pick)

San Diego 23, Washington 17 (OT) (Astounding game from Tomlinson; 3 TDs including the GW touchdown run; Washington headed for another disappointing finish)

Chicago 13, Tampa Bay 10 (Bears go to #2 in the NFC with this win; Tampa in the thick of both the NFC South and wild card races at 7-4).

Minnesota 24, Cleveland 12 (Vikings go to 6-5 and become a wild card contender after their 4th straight win)

Kansas City 26, New England 16 (Chiefs go to 7-4 in the unbelievably difficult AFC West; Pats still have their playoff spot guaranteed in the pathetic AFC East at 6-5)

St. Louis 33, Houston 27 (OT) (St. Louis scored 10 pts in the last minute to force overtime and dropped Houston to the worst record in the league)

Cincinnati 42, Baltimore 29 (Bengals drop the pathetic Ravens to go to 8-3 and a possible 1 game lead in the AFC North pending the Monday game)

Carolina 13, Buffalo 9 (Bills are essentially eliminated following the loss; Carolina breaks out to a 1 game lead in the NFC South after an average effort in Buffalo)

Miami 33, Oakland 21 (Normally a high-profile matchup, but this game really had nothing to it)

Jacksonville 24, Arizona 17 (Jax goes to 8-3 but loses Leftwich with a broken ankle; most likely gone for the year)

Seattle 24, NY Giants 21 (OT) (Best game of the day; Giants blew it with 16 penalties and 3 missed field goals; Seattle is on top of the NFC but hardly a dominant team)

Philadelphia 19, Green Bay 14 (Was supposed to be a high-profile matchup, but both teams have had their difficulties; Philly wins an ugly one)

New Orleans 21, NY Jets 19 (Both teams actually played hard; Jets fall to 2-9 and are preparing for a top-5 pick).

Pittsburgh at Indy MNF

Next week is going to be enormous in determining the playoff picture; lots of big games including:

Atlanta @ Carolina
Dallas @ NY Giants
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh
Denver @ Kansas City

Couldn't help feeling sorry for Feely. To be honest, two of them were very long kicks.

I am very gutted for Byron Leftwich - I had hopes on them to make the playoffs since last season.

Thankfully, the Pats' loss against the Chiefs won't count that much as the Bills dug their own grave.

I couldn't understand The Mancs' loss yesterday though - maybe Simms is out of his depth now after two games?

Think Simms was playing above of himself in the Redskins game, he needs to manage the game better, more like a steeler offense, if you ask me...

I'm just glad the pack lost, at least we're still in the hunt for a good draft pick!

USC/UCLA today, should be a great game. I'd love to see the draft work out to SF getting Reggie Bush as him and Alex Smith both played on the same High-School team. Helix high in SD baby!

Is it  possible that the 49'ers will lose their games in a deliberate attempt to get the No. 1 Draft Pick?  Interesting thought.....  The Texans are more likely to end 1-15 in any case.

Upset pick of the day: Green Bay @ Chicago

It's snowing and windy in Chicago, Favre loves that weather, and he is 21-5 lifetime against the Bears.  Despite the fact Chicago has a great defense, I could see an upset there.

GOOD MAN!

11-1 at soldier field...also...

Quote
Favre has been the main reason for Chicago's drought against Green Bay. He has thrown a touchdown pass in all 26 career games he has played against the Bears, and his 51 touchdowns against Chicago are the third-most against one opponent in NFL history.

By the way...I'm rootin for the Gmen today and think they'll pick up the win, they better as I've got money on'em!

still in the game, down 9-7...

Gonna be hard to have a worse record than:
1. Texans
2. Jets
3. Saints
4. 49'ers.

Still, Packers could get a top ten pick, I guess.  My real question is, do teams lose on purpose to get a Top First Round Pick?  (There will be a big, big difference between the #1 pick and the #2 Pick this year).

NFL Scores: Week 13 (Showdown Sunday)

Indy 35, Tennessee 3 (Colts march on unbeaten and just hammer the hapless Titans; complete domination from the opening whistle.  San Diego next week will be quite the opponent for Indy in 2 weeks).

Minnesota 21, Detroit 16 (Vikings now in the thick of the playoff hunt after their fifth straight win; Detroit may be in more chaos than any team in the league)

Chicago 19, Green Bay 7 (It looked like the Packers were going to take this one until Favre's INT at the half; Chicago gets a wounded and angry Pittsburgh team next week at Pitt)

Carolina 24, Atlanta 6 (First victory for the Panthers over Vick; their defense dominated with five sacks and 2 INTS)

Jacksonville 20, Cleveland 14 (Backup QB Garrard leads the Jags to a comeback victory over the snakebit Browns; Frye looks like a competent NFL QB for the Browns).

Baltimore 16, Houston 15 (Houston drops to 1-11 as they still lead the way for Reggie Bush; this is a game you'd TiVO and forget about when you finally decide to fall asleep).

NY Giants 17, Dallas 10 (The Giants take over 1st place in the NFC East with this showdown win; their defense dominated the Cowboys all day.  Dallas is now in a dogfight just to make the playoffs with a very hard schedule ahead).

Cincinnati 38, Pittsburgh 31 (Bengals put a hammerlock on the AFC North with this huge win at Pittsburgh; best game the Bengals have played all season)

Tampa Bay 10, New Orleans 3 (Another game for the Tivo; Bucs win ugly in Baton Rouge to stay a game behind the Panthers when they go to Carolina next week.  Bucs are at this point the first NFC Wild Card at 8-4)

Miami 24, Buffalo 23 (Chambers has the game of his life and the Fish come back from 21 points down to stun Buffalo; Bills essentially eliminated from any playoff possibility)

Arizona 17, San Francisco 10 (Niners drop to 2-10 and become primary competitor to the Texans for Reggie Bush; Cardinals take themselves out of that equation with a stunning Anquan Boldin TD catch and run)

Washington 24, St. Louis 9 (Redskins defense dominates rookie QB Fitzpatrick and evens their record at 6-6; the Rams are basically eliminated from the playoff chase.  Redskins still have critical games left with the Cowboys and Giants at home)

New England 16, NY Jets 3 (Patriots weren't impressive at all, but did enough to beat the horrible Jets; it is conceivable for the Jets to get the top pick, as they could go 2-14 and someone has to win the Texans-Niners classic in the last week of the season)

Kansas City 31, Denver 27 (Toe-to-toe slugfest at Arrowhead; Plummer played perhaps his worst game since the opening week as the Chiefs got their offense rolling.  Despite being at 8-4, the Chiefs would still miss the playoffs if the season ended today)

San Diego 34, Oakland 10 (Although this was not LDT's best game, the Chargers totally outclassed the Raiders in San Diego; their defense stood out and virtually shut down the Raiders)

Seattle at Philly MNF

One more comment to make on the Giants game...

Osi Umenyiora, our other defensive end (Strahan being the old pro) is absolutely SICK when it comes to athletic ability.  When he was drafted, he was just an athlete but now knows how to play defensive end.

He made a play on Julius Jones on a 2nd and 3 that was absolutely ridiculous--Jones took a misdirection pitch from Bledsoe and it fooled the entire defense.  Osi basically ran down Jones in the open field and held him a yard short of the first down...Dallas couldn't convert the ensuing 3rd down and they had to punt.  For me, this was the play of the game just as much as the fumble recovery at the start of the 2nd half.

When Osi was interviewed after the game, I noticed he had a slight British accent; I found out he was actually born and spent some of his childhood in London.

Garrard's big test will come when The Colts go to Jacksonville.  Hope that RB Taylor can get his groove on as soon as possible. I have seen him doing some pretty amazing stuff when he is fit.  If the Jags make it as a Wildcard team, they gonna need him.

The Falcons may be leaving it too late and will only have themselves to blame. Having said that, The Panthers have to come to Atlanta soon.  The Mancs game away will be very important - I see Simms' performance falling soon though.

Even though I hate to admit it, The Colts are looking money this time.  So I will change my tune to: If Manning doesn't win it this time, he never will.  Does anyone think this team will be dismantled sometime soon (eg next season) because of
(a) It will be too expensive to maintain and
(b) Some players will move on to bigger contracts?

And just how good are:

1. Chad Johnson
2. Brad Johnson
3. Shaun Alexander?

The only upside for the Jets this season is that they could have Reggie Bush waiting for them at the end of it.

If the Jags are to have any chance at knocking off that Indy team Taylor must be healthy.  Otherwise they don't have a good enough running back to take the pressure off Garrard and reduce the number of possessions Manning and company get.

Atlanta gets Carolina at home in the last week; they've got some work to do before they even get to that game and who knows if they'll be alive by then.  The wild card contender with the easiest schedule in the NFC is Minnesota...Tampa, Atlanta, and Carolina all play each other once more and Dallas has Kansas City, @ Washington, and @ Carolina.

Look at Minny's schedule: St. Louis, Pittsburgh, @ Baltimore, Chicago.  They should have 2 wins easy and might even steal one of the tough ones at home (Pitt, Chicago)
