Very dissapointing, but not unexpected. Knew when I saw the team sheet that it was going to be tough and was actively hoping for Palace to make some sort of error as its the only way i could see us getting anything. Rafa has to take some of the blame but the players were awful and I don't think that anyone is above blame for this game.

I don't think anyone's blaming the young lads.... it's just that having them all in the team at the same time was very unlikely to work. It didn't!

What's your logic Rafa, cos it's beyond me!

What a pile of shite.
Shit team selection, shit formation. Bad subs. Playing Cisse out of position.

How the fuck can you play him right mid? Hes a centre forward for fuck sake. Sort that out, absoloute joke.

Piss poor performance and we deserve nothing
 :no

There's nothing wrong per se with trying to exploit his pace down the wing. But I think most people will agree that in this case he should have come on upfront when Baros went off.

We need to set the record straight. Rafa is just like Ged was when it comes to making players play out of position. Ffs, Cissé, Traore, Le Tallec, Potter, thats four out of eleven... I fucking hate watching Cissé on the wing!!! :no

Oh well, seems we now also play our Mr. Hyde team the weekend before european matches. That should mean we'll twat Chelsea then! ::)
All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

5th, 6th and 7th get UEFA Cup spot this season so we should be safe for that. Maybe i'm a little glad that this chase for 4th may be over.

Being objective, it's rare that a new manager does well in his first season. Would hope to see Rafa improve the aquad in the summer so we can get some consistency. Remember, it wasn't this game in particular which cost us fourth place.

What a fucking disgrace , hang your heads in shame.

On the day the blueshite and bolton blow it LFC have to go one better. How many times!!Again we can't even score, so follows the inevitable defeat.

Rotation Rafa? bunch of arse , wait till we've got Aimar and Vicente on the bench before you rest our best players.

Just once it would be nice for us to turn in a positive performance where we're actually going for a goal rather than going through the motions.

You have to go all the way down to relegation threatened Portsmouth for a worse away record.

Might as well stop bothering with the league now. Though on today's performance we already have.
i might think rafa is more confident of getting in champs league through winning it.

Chelsea didn't rest Lamps but i think it would've been too much to ask of Xabi to play today after his long lay off and Garcia was injured. I think what cost us today was simply a lack of quality. Having Le Tallec, Welsh and Potter in the same team made us simply weak.

Liverpool lose away to a shite team without scoring a goal, heard it all before. Given a lifeline earlier in the day, and didn't take advantage of it.
Our away form is a joke, don't deserve 4th spot for that fact alone. Another Sat night in work, with a crap result to ponder over.

Rafa the tinkerman at it again... formations, team selections, substitutions. Ok so he has a point about rotating a squad ahead of big games, but leaving key players out and putting strikers on the wing at such a crucial stage in the season?

Refering back to Walshy's thread about rotation a week or so ago.. just rang true over the last few games. We simply don't have the squad to be able to rotate.

I bet if Baros is out for the Chelsea game he'll probably put Cisse on the right and Garcia upfront. Baffling. We have an absolute class £14million striker and he puts him on the fucking wing.

Potter, Welsh and Le Tallec are nationwide standards. Cisse is not even footballer. How the hell did we pay £14M on Cisse. Pellegrino is past his best. Dudek is worst keeper in league. Baros can´t do nothing right. Riise will never be good enoigh.

Sorry Rafa, but you have to take the blame for this one.

You just didn't put a good enough team out. Potter, Le Tallac, Welsh - still learning, can't get away with all three of them. Pelle and Traore - simply not good enough. That's half your team. The rest played their hearts out, but you just can't win away in the Prem with half a team.

Our PREMIERSHIP away form this season (think this is right):

Won 5
Drawn 3
Lost 10

18 points from 54. Teams we've beaten are Norwich, WBA, Fulham, Portsmouth and Charlton. Drew with Blackburn, Spurs and Villa. Lost to every other team apart from Arsenal, who we have yet to play away. No prizes for the correct prediction with that one. Hopefully we'll use these last 3 games to try and get a formation for next season. I suggest 4-4-2 if you can't think of anything else Rafa, we seemed to play a little better today after switching to it and we have played absolute shite a couple of times with 3 at the back.

What really fucking annoys me about that is that we showed that we could play near the end, but that was fucking it. Kiraly pulled off the save of his fucking life to stop Gerrard from scoring. Cisse starting to look sharper. I don't think Pellegrino will "EARN" his extra 12 months here like he wants to. We missed Garcia and Xabi today like a turtle misses its shell. We need arsenal to do us 2 favours. Beat blueshite let us beat them.

From what I saw we had better chances than them, all they had was one decent shot all game and they took it, we had some chances but they were either straight at the keeper or the keeper made the save of their life. Please rafa never play potter again this season.

Gerrard was however showing signs of himself last season, with some of his brilliant passing to set up Morientes who if not for Popovic would have scored.

mmh not sure there, Chelsea on the verge of winning the title going into the game after winning their derby full of confidence. We go away lacking confidence after losing disgracefully again to another no mark team.

Gutted. Very disappointing. The chances of us beating Chelsea over 2 legs and AC Milan in a one-off game are far lower than beating Palace, Boro, Arsenal and Villa. We have to concentrate on that. The glory is in the CL but we're not going to be in it next year. Back to Channel 5 on Thursday nights and all our games on a Sunday.
