What’s going on with teams (especially McClaren) seemingly having “special” liveries at every other race? I know teams have done it now and again, but it seems to be all the time now. I understand doing one to remember Senna, but was a special livery for Miami really necessary?

It is a whole lot of that and a little bit Lotus as well. The right shade of yellow, really.

I like McLaren's reasoning for going with those colours rather than the red and white Malboro colour scheme.

I might be wrong, but I think it’s because traditionally the Monaco GP took place on the weekend where Ascension Day is on the Friday so there was no running as it’s a public holiday. I think the bigger F1 calendar has shunted the Monaco GP by a couple of weeks as Ascension Day was 2 weeks ago.

I think this is right, the track would usually be opened up on Ascension Day to allow the public to travel around so obviously couldn't hold any racing. This doesn't happen now so its been moved back inline with the other GP's to have Friday practice instead of Thursday.
