Unbelievable state of that Car.

Absolute mayhem. That’s at least 8 cars with some sort of contact (Sainz-Piastri, Perez-Both Haas, Alpines). Magnussen and Ocon driving like morons.

Sainz is very lucky to have the grid reset, Leclerc was through the first sector already.

I wouldn’t call it the blink of an eye, they’ve got a long run up out of Turn 1 and Magnussen knew that gap would 100% get closed as they go up the hill. He’s never ever going to remotely alongside, let alone past. Davidson, Brundle, Button all in agreement Magnussen should have backed out.

Not sure why Tsunoda is letting the cars in front get away. He doesn’t want to give them a free pit under a safety car if one happens. He could get 5th after the 3 in front pit.

If I was McLaren I’d pit Piastri first to catch Ferrari off guard then pit Norris. Piastri only loses one place then but on much better tyres than the Ferraris.

No that wouldn’t make sense. If Piastri pits now you just leave Leclerc out front and Sainz behind him backing the pack up.

The only way stops will happen is Norris pits, Sainz pits to cover him off and then the front two pit because the two behind them did. It’s none of them or all of them, but Norris will be the trigger.

Should’ve gambled someone when they had Norris around 20s ahead of Russell. Way too cautious for my liking. Too worried about protecting 2-4 instead of gambling and risking a 3-4 as worst case.

Agree about Norris, Verstappen is speeding through at the moment, at a place like this you may as well go for the gamble, rather than just motor home like this.

It's incredibly difficult to pass here though. Remember Hamilton holding Verstappen off on very old tyres for about 20 laps several years ago? It's not a guarantee he gets past Russell.
