I'd certainly never lower myself to taking the third best movie of a trilogy in this sort of draft

But what if it's the first best in that decade

That would be a dumb move.

Can I shock you? I prefer Last Crusade to Temple of Doom.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

If it wasn't for Mr Miyagi, Daniel san was on a path to become a school shooter. Maybe the solution to America's gun problem is more Mr. Miyagis

I think so too, just about.

100%. "Last Crusade" is very unfairly maligned - there's nothing wrong with it.

I thought it was Temple of Doom that was more maligned, wasn't it? Last Crusade I think was fairly well received. It's my least favorite of the three I must admit, I find it the most talkative, but it's really good and the Ford-Connery duo was great. Really good pick I say.

It’s good, the first three are all great. But Temple of Doom is better.

John Hughes with 5 different entries now. The most of any filmmaker? This really was his decade.

The 80s was his decade. There are still 2 or 3 more that won't be picked but won't look out of place in this draft. Sixteen Candles, The national lampoon films. Home Alone just misses out.

Not listed on letterboxd as such. Only as a comedy. Although in many ways its the ultimate family film.

Yes! Mongoose. Great flick that. Probably won't get as much love on RAWK, but it's one of my faves of his.

The Hitcher is a really nice leftfield pick, and one I didn't expect at all. The main protagonist wasn't very good, but Rutger Hauer was great and extremely creepy.

Dis is hitting it out of the park for a second draft in a row. Evil Dead 2 is such an amazing pick, especially at this stage. It did bother me a little that is was basically a remake of the first one, but it’s so good (and so much better) that who cares. Really surprised it didn’t went before.

It’s decent and about what you’d expect from an evil dead series, but for some reason just didn’t grip me enough to watch it all. I think the movies are about perfect for their length and content

Tampopo is an interesting pick. I haven't seen it, but it's been on my list for quite some time. I will watch it over the weekend perhaps. The concept of the film sounds very cool.
