Usually barefoot as my office has carpet, if I wear socks the dog gets very interested in my feet and usually wants the socks. I haven't found a good pair of slippers to wear yet.

My girlfriend does, but she's a foreigner and she's just translating how it's said in Greek. She'll say "What day next month are we going... 8?" etc. It's a bit jarring.

So maybe people saying it that way are used to it from other languages, and bringing it into English? Is this another thing the gammons can blame multicultural societies for?

My Bulgarian mates do a similar thing - if I remember rightly they don't have the "th" sound as part of the language so it isn't a natural thing to add

The fact that actors can cry on demand, always found it extremely weird. I haven't cried for about 9 years but these actors can be told to cry and do it with no problem.

I was thinking about that this morning -- it must be really weird being related to, or a friend of, a good actor.  how the hell can you trust anything they tell you?

Possibly not weird but all the whinging bastards posting on the main forum, how do they get through a normal day, never mind a lifetime?

Have people lost the ability to accept imperfection or how to deal with being let down?

How do they hold down a job or have a long term relationship if they can't handle the team not doing as well as they'd hoped?

It seems we need a new squad, manager and coaches, oh and a new medical department but personally I'd prefer some new fans please or better still some of our old fans back 🤷

I'm in my 60s, I remember how imperious we were but I also remember the 30yrs of mainly crap, interspersed with the occasional good stuff.

After the shite of H&G and the battle to get them out, I'm grateful for everything that's happened since. 

Life is a rollercoaster, the ups and downs are what define us, the paths we take, our destination and how we get there.  If everything went perfectly we wouldn't learn or grow or become better. 

I feel sorry for those who can't enjoy all those experiences and processes and only want the cream.

Grateful. That’s me and I’m grateful because of as you say, the 30 years before Klopp were frustrating. Then again, even during that time we had more success than many! But overall it wasn’t a great period for us.

I said ages ago that we’re entitled to fuck all, which is why gratitude not entitlement is the right response - especially when you consider the totally distorted competitive backdrop to football.
