So. When I wear shoes, I do the following order..
Right socks --> Left socks --> Right shoes --> Left shoes

My wife does the following order..
Right socks --> Right shoes --> Left socks --> Left shoes

Which for some unexplainable reason, I find weird.

As for the your question Tubby,

I usually walk around with a house flipflop  or barefoot in summer. In winter, I swap it for a sock if it gets too chilly. But flipflops are fairly standard.

In the living room always barefoot as the carpet feels soft. In the kitchen and bathroom it's always slippers as we have lino so can get slippy.

Socks probably 80% of the time. Barefoot the 10% of time it's hot in summer. Socks and slippers when I'm pootling about or if it's very cold.

Usually barefoot as my office has carpet, if I wear socks the dog gets very interested in my feet and usually wants the socks. I haven't found a good pair of slippers to wear yet.
