David Brooks is a really good player. Probably as good as Grealish for half the fee. Although it remains to be seen just how well he's bounced back from that bad injury.

Is he ready to play for Utd? I don't know. Is he a natural fit for them? I doubt it. Pre-Mourinho Spurs or Arsenal would have been good places for him to land.

Bournemouth should be looking to build their team around him, Billing and Solanke but I'd imagine most of them are for sale at the right price.

Yeah its a huge risk given that Brooks basically went 12 months without kicking a ball. He looked decent before that but still with a lot of developing to do. I don't think he automatically gets into United's team either, which makes it a weird potential signing given they really need to be improving their first 11 (which in turn improves their depth).

Agree about Brooks and Solanke has been shit for Bournemouth but I don't think he is. I think he's shown enough in glimpses that he can be a decent forward in the future.

Billing definitely isn't shit, I think he was just working with a terrible set of instructions last season and was being asked to do far too much. He's physical, transitions the ball well and is a generally solid player who should be playing in the Premier League. Not good enough for us, but not many are.

And what a massive step down in quality that will be for Leverkusen, depsressing for their fans really. Still, it’s hard to replace a player like him, but they have made some good signings over recent years,  hopefully they can use some of the money in later windows to snap up a couple more good young players.

Gabriel Magalhães to Arsenal.  Honestly can't ever remember seeing him play but everyone seems to be raving about him plus he does have the size they are sorely missing.  If they can get Partey that's a pretty decent window for them.  They will rely heavily on Auba again but at least they are trying to sort some issues out.

Romero is a top, if old, keeper - last 2/3 years I've thought he has been as good as De Gea, and I genuinely think he's in the top 8ish keepers in the league (the only keepers that are *clearly* better are Allison, Pope, Henderson and Ederson - he is of a similar level to Lloris, Leno and Foster)

Both will need time to settle in but a partnership of Saliba & Gabriel sounds good for the future. Just hope fans are patient with them both & give them time to settle. He's good experience, he's meant to be great in the dressing room, these guys are coming in from Ligue 1 still wet behind the ears. If we are actively looking to sell Sokratis & 1 or 2 others of the current centre backs then we'll have a distinct lack of any centre backs fit & ready for the start of the season with any EPL experience.

Also, if we need to resort to 3 at the back for any point, then he is very good as the spare man in the middle as the end of season showed.
