that really does sound like a warning to their fans not to expect much transfer dealings. Hope they are not too disappointed

There’ll be two reactions to that. One will be to get the Norwich City scarves out and to tweet “Glazers out”. The other will be to claim that Woodward is playing a blinder pretending that their broke in order to get Jason Sancho on the cheap...so they can then go out and get Grealish, Koulibaly etc as well.

Hardly any of them will accept the situation for what it is.

Arguments over who said it first aside, what point are they trying to make in this particular instance? It's not like fans are being priced out on this occasion, or that they are being banned from the ground for some corporate or commercial reasons, it's a public health issue. Are they suggesting that fans should be let in, or do they think we shouldn't have restarted?

Also, it's not the most inspiring thing to look at when you're pushing for a winner/equaliser is it? There's no crowd in, you look up, see that banner and it's sentiment seemingly endorsed by the club, and you could quite easily think "well I can't be arsed putting the extra effort in then".

Loads of German clubs have had banners stating ‘football without fans is nothing’ displayed since the re-start. The big difference is - its the actual fans who made the banners and where allowed, by their clubs, to display them in the stadium.

This by Manchester United is a publicity stunt to try and make them ‘look good’, it’s a corporate stunt paid for by the club.

Good to see Liverpool are actually displaying fan made banners like they have been doing in Germany, far more meaningful than that corporate point-scoring United bullshit.

"They may be above us but we are still much better" "we beat x so it shows how close we are" "X is better than *insert much better player in same position at much better team". "Next year is our year". Use goals from Europa League group games to pad stats etc etc etc.

The Martial who turns up 1 game in 3 or 4, who when he doesn't score has absolutely no impact on the game....and generally fades into the background.

One is a run of the mill, extremely average striker. The other is completely irreplaceable to his team.

Any United fan that genuinely thinks Martial is better than Bobby need their heads checking.
