I personally think Arsenal would be a decent move for him right now.

Beeb reporting spuds after him. Would be a good move. He’d link up well with likes of Kane and Son, providing his back doesn’t play up ;D

And providing Kane doesn't accidentally stay on holiday too long again.

Coutinho doesn't go on lengthy holidays. His bad back requires regular treatment.

50%.  Think a loan might be a good move for both, but you'd be nuts to actually buy him at this point in his career.

The Villa talk is a loan, I think?  The big worry for me would be if Gerrard gets him and plays him as a 10, he was never any good in that position for us.

Always see (possibly bollocks) links to Everton. Would be fucking hilarious if he went there. It's mad how bad he looks whenever you watch him now. It's like any semblance of what made him really good is gone. I think if he ended up at one of our league rivals it'd make the whole saga even funnier. Everton of course would be the best but even someone like Arsenal or Spurs would be a laugh.

Rafa did manage him at Inter i think?

McGinn, Luiz and Watkins all put in a shift compared to Coutinho. There’s a reason he is up for grabs - it’s the fact that he cannot do the off the ball stuff required of modern day forwards/attacking midfielders. He couldn’t in his pomp with us; now he’s on the decline he’s the very epitome of a luxury player.

Will be interesting to see what he will do if he comes back to the league and how much Villa have to pay but if I was a betting man I think he will out perform the 100m flop that left to join City. 1 goal 2 assists in a side that has 50 plus goals and similar assists. Villa were laughing to the bank when they sold Grealish and if they get his replacement on the cheap then it could be one of the deals of the decade.

Absolutely wild signing for Villa. There's no way the drop off isn't at least part systemic. Like it doesn't make any sense. At Barca it was clear that being in the same side of the biggest shot creating footballer of all time wasn't good for him, as he's a player that needs to be at the centre of everything creative himself. He is essentially Messi-lite. If Gerrard sticks him in that 8 position and tries to get the game revolving around him, get him on the ball as much as possible, it could be absolutely amazing for them.

Easy to laugh at him for the way things have gone but he was never really a £120m footballer and would have always struggled to live up to the expectation that kind of fee brings at a club like Barcelona who were (and still are) desperate for an heir to Messi which unfortunately for them will probably never arrive.

Add in the systemic and tactical issues which he faced and he was on a hiding to nothing.

Potentially good signing for Villa but will always be questions as to whether a team of their quality will be able to carry a lad like him. Will probably score a few worldies between now and May but not much more and end up back at Barcelona before moving somewhere mad at the end of the season for a massive pay cut.

Not sure how the signing fits in when they already have Buendia and Ramsey, but Coutinho is still phenomenal talentwise and hasn't had much wear and tear in terms of injuries. He also has the ability to play as a deep playmaker. To be honest, I'm really looking forward to seeing him play regularly.

The Barcelona move destabilised him in some way. I still think there’s a brilliant player in there.

Coutinho's not a player I wish anything bad happening for really, but I've always been glad to see how it's worked out for him. The Bayern loan obviously went well for him but since leaving Liverpool it must have been mostly painful for him. I don't begrudge him of wanting to play for Barca with Messi et al but there where obviously a couple of things that done him no favours. The wanting to leave story just before the season began, the bad back, the great sadness for his family etc etc.

My guess right now is he doesn't produce much for Villa and doesn't sign permanently, repeat all this nonsense in the summer. Basically four years to the day of leaving us and now he's with a bottom half Prem side. Madness.
