A tad frustrating today it has to be said. Just needs to bury one and he’ll be back for the run in. Keep going Mo lad. I like that he left the pitch with his name ringing out from the Putney End.

He’ll have a week away now no doubt. Go find a beach. Forget about football. Enjoy yourself and come back and batter spurs

He did save us from a possible second Fulham goal the unselfishness in that moment was first rate from him. I agree a rest though will do him good.

He’s doing mostly everything well, some his decisions in the final 3rd are lacking and his finishing has dropped to pub level. A break would do him well.

He just needs a goal, playing with a nervous kind of tension and its showing. Looking too much to end every move with him scoring instead of just looking for us to score

That move where he ignored 2 teammates annoyed me because its the third time in 3 or 4 games and Mane got slaughtered for doing the same last season

Seems like all defenders do their performance of the season against him right now and nothing bounces his way. I don't think he was terrible at all, he had a better general game than Firmino for example.

He should have gone left early, once he didn’t he then didn’t have an angle for the pass. Don’t think it was deliberately selfish.

He’s still working hard for the team and we’re still picking up the results. He’ll come good again soon enough. Think we all need to relax.

Even though he hasn't scored in a while he's had better performances, even when he hasn't scored, today nothing went well for him. He was involved in almost everything against burnley, was sensational against Watford, and disappointing against Everton United and Fulham today so a mixture of everything. But needs to keep going, it will come

He’s fine. He’s still playing at a higher standard than most in this league, just not getting the individual rewards at the moment. Contrasts nicely with Sir Mouthbreather who gets his goals and hinders his team.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I agree that he was a bit selfish at times today but you can understand it when its been a while since he scored. Once he gets that goal he'll be flying again.

Still, I don't think he was bad but far from the player he was last season.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

The comms don’t half chat a lot of shite about him, trying to create a story or narrative around him.

He’s out of form, that’s it. He’s trying a bit too hard to get back in form. Again, that’s it.

Nothing more. He’s not really being anymore greedy than he has been previously, or than anyone else normally is. It’s just he’s not being as productive as he has been previously.

He’ll grab a few soon enough and when he does the confidence will come back.

That's what I mean, going towards the defender killed the counter completely. The thing I didn't get is that was the easiest option for HIM to score, play that and continue running and he's in for a tap in

He's still impacting the game but I think its pretty harsh to have one rule for some of our players and different ones for others, regardless of the end result he needs to pass it more as it helps the entire team which is what comes first

I think he's mentally fatigued. Just look at the last 18 months to 2 years. Gets all them goals last season, suffers a bad injury in Kiev, struggles to recover for the World Cup, rushed back, lots of pressure from his nation, political issues, comes back still without recovering fully mentally. Has a good season but seems to be suffering with confidence a touch, close to breaking Shearer's record.

For me it's too much for him. He's not Suarez or that type, we need an adequate replacement when he isn't firing and there's nothing wrong with not firing 100 percent of the time but its alot of pressure on his shoulders.

Look at Sadio's numbers this season. It doesn't get any more adequate than that.

Thought he was decent today. He's missed that calmness and composure he had last season over the past few months and a lot of that has to just be fatigue. These 2 weeks should help take a brief break from everything and just ease out from the pressure. He'll be fine. His workrate is still excellent and he still tries with everything. As long as he keeps that up I'd still want him on the pitch every single game. The goals will come.

I don't mind that he's not scoring but his decision making has to be better. That one attack at 0-1 where he had three players to his left in tons of space but instead he tried to do it all on his own was absolutely infuriating. If he gets that right we probably seal the game then and there. He's just running into coul de sacs at the moment and is being far too selfish. Go back to basics. Pick your head up. Pick out a team mate. Pass it if you've got two or three defenders on you.

I am sure he is not passing first time. A sure sign of confidence issue. He needs to relax. Create situation where his play is unpredictable. Switch between his feet, pass quicker, dribble and pass instead of shoot  etc. He is a brilliant player and he is fighting the demons in his mind rather than on the field. He needs to switch role maybe. I am not sure how but he is critical to us and needs to break this rut.

When Mane made certain that he gave Pawson no option but to award a penalty, I immediately thought of how passive Mo is in similar circumstances. If anything, more so than ever.

In an era when players claim every throw in and corner/goal kick, Mo never does. He’s allowing defenders to get away with stuff because of his extreme passiveness, and although I don’t wish him to become a serial diver, I wish he’d appreciate that when he gets fouled, tugged, pulled, manhandled, he’s entitled to some protection and if it’s not forthcoming, he’s entitled to overact, so that crap officials do something.

I think he is overcomplicating things, taking too many touches and then not releasing the ball quicker. Would really like to see him try and keep it simple for a half, try and play each move with two touches to get a bit of confidence up. Hopefully the rest during the international will help too.

He is still doing an important role on the pitch in distracting defenses though

But I figured today Salah being in my team was jinxing him after watching today's match.

There are many signs that the defenders and the goalkeepers know or anticipate what he is going to do, or where and how he is going to shoot. This was evident to me from early this season. Sometimes his speed gives him a huge advantage, and he gets what he wants to do. Often this year, it seems that the speed is gone, or he is too ponderous with the ball.

5 shots and 3 on target says he's not a million miles off.

I think it's one of those things where he just needs one to go in, because his barren streak is messing with him mentally.

On the other hand, it's clear that he's getting a whole lot of attention, which is making his life more difficult. He's getting double-marked at every turn. That's going to mean fewer goals for him, but no doubt contributes to Mane getting more opportunities.

He's doing very well. Some of his work drawing defenders away from Mane and Firmino is going quite unnoticed. Of course the finishing is rusty but that will come. Have a feeling he'll have a big burst before the end of the season, hopefully in the CL as we really dont need him firing heavily to beat the PL dross.

That’s the way it works though
If Lovren had done what van Dijk did today he’d be slaughtered far more because he’s done it before and hasn’t contributed as much to the team
Salah didn’t play well today but he’s got a shit ton in the bank and so when he has a dip he doesn’t get as badly for criticised - perfectly fair.
As for messing up attacks he’s been our best final third passer all season (most chances created, most assists etc) so it’s just a blip

Lovren is in the top 3 most extreme examples though

Again Mane got absolute dogs abuse just last season for one single instance of not passing at a crucial moment. He'd bagged plenty of important goals up until then and impacted on a shitload of games, he was at that point regarded as one of the best front 3's out there. For me in this case its not about 'money in the bank' just being realistic about the game and expectations

No ones saying its not a blip or he isn't still creating, obviously he is. He just needs to improve on the decision making as at the moment its every game he's taking these strange decisions to take on 3 or 4 men at will in order to score alone rather than pass and take an assist helping the team in the process. I've no doubt at all scoring even 1 goal will alleviate a huge amount of pressure... but he's got to help himself
