Wolves have scored some wonderful goals here. Cannot believe the German coach whose name I can neither spell nor pronounce thought VAR made the wrong decision on the penalty. They cleaned the Wolves player out and got absolutely none of the ball.

First thought about that penalty for me 'is the ball within playing distance'? Not that small details like that seem to matter anymore, especially when trying to shield it out.

A 2 on 1 scenario like that is always going to be a penalty. Shielding 1 on 1 they might have got away with it, but the defenders combined to shield the ball and take the player out: even if they don't kick him or pull his shirt or push him to the ground, it's still a penalty any day of the week.

The ball didn't look out of reach to me. Can you honestly say he wouldn't have gotten to the ball if his path weren't blocked off by the two Southampton defenders? Wolves deserved the penalty and the win imho.
