Well, what an astonishing finish to this season's Premier League. As can be gathered from the spoilers above, the title was finally decided in the 88th minute of the game, when Jonny Evans picked up the game's fourth booking. Both title contenders decided to place all their hopes on DP, with Barney needing exactly 6 to win the title (or more than 12 with Mivi winning on the home advantage). In the end, he came close, but the title goes to our brand new Champion - Buck Pete!

However, if you thought Barney's been unfortunate, spare a thought for poor old HoinkDoink, who posted the day's second-best entry, only to see his opponent also pick the correct final score and top it off with Ibe as the first scorer for the three extra points. To make matters worse, the relegation battle wasn't decided until the very end, since a late Benteke winner would have still given both HoinkDoink and redforlife three points, with Mivi relegated. It wasn't to be, though, so HoinkDoink, who could yet finish second in the overall league, will find himself in the Championship next season.

Scores:

Barneylfc v BoRed 20-18
carraggeriise v KeegansPerm 12-12
HoinkDoink v ollyfrom.tv 24-27
Mivi v Buck Pete 15-16
Ndeyanka v rushyman 15-13
Phil M v fivein05 0-0 (no points awarded to either player for a 0-0 draw)
redforlife v Yorkshire-Red 21-23
RJH v MelwoodBoy 14-0
tylerjnorton v redman1974 11-13
Ycuzz v Kopite1971 0-0 (no points awarded to either player for a 0-0 draw)

Final standings (gf, ga, gd, pts, name (missed entries)):

586   489   +097   75   Buck Pete C
620   517   +103   74   Barneylfc

483   549   -066   37   carraggeriise (4) R
000   492   -492   00   fivein05 (38) R

Relevant head-to-head scores:

Yorkshire-Red v KeegansPerm 13-13 16-16 (away goals rule)
BoRed v ollyfrom.tv 12-8 9-10
Ycuzz v Phil M 14-11 11-0
Mivi v redfordlife 18-10 16-20

On a personal note, even though my results have been pretty miserable, I have to say I've enjoyed this season, especially the dramatic ending.

(Barney, I don't mean to say I enjoyed seeing you lose, I just enjoyed the drama, and would have enjoyed it equally had you won. Having said that, your tactics today were far from optimal, but since you both beat me and lost the title anyway, I'll spare you the lecture. ;))

I hope to see you all back next season for another exciting edition of the one and only Premier League!

Just a reminder:

A few records to keep an eye on:

Largest overall winning margin: 37 points (BoRed in 2008/09)
Highest points total in the Premier League: 84 points (Ndeyanka in 2006/07)
Largest winning margin in the Premier League: 17 points (KeegansPerm in 2013/14, BoRed in 2014/15)
Highest BoRed's Cup winning average: 17.70 points (MelwoodBoy in 2013/14)

Now I'll have to look up the largest lead squandered instead.

Copying your post on the final day this season didn't benefit me. Fucked either way  ;D

I could have been a real fucker and pointed out to Mivi on the sly that if he simply copied Pete's post that would have seen him safe regardless of what anyone else done. He just must have more of a life outside of this than I do  ;D

Been an enjoyable first season in the Premier League. Even if I did bottle it.

A late Benteke winner would have given Mivi a win surely, keeping him safe (while giving me the title)?

Actually, this means that the title wasn't settled by that card, since a Liverpool goal at the end would have given Barney the title. So it was even tighter than I thought. ;D

I thought I noticed this lad in the away end mumbling "please don't score, please don't score" every time Liverpool went forward in the final minutes. ;)

Obviously irrelevant now in terms of me doing it, but has anyone ever won the Championship then the Premier League in their first 2 seasons?

Something for JSteve to attempt next season if not.

No one has ever done that, though carraggeriise is still the only player to win the Premier League straight after being promoted (not counting the first ever champion in a season when everyone was newly promoted :)).

Anyway, enough of this bollocks. I can still catch JSteve if I get a perfect score on Wednesday and he scores 4 or less  ;D

Vs Seville

Mignolet

Clyne Lovren Toure Moreno

Milner Can Lallana

Firmino Sturridge Coutinho

FS - 2-1 Liverpool
FG - Sturridge
DP - 8
Craig Burnley V West Ham - WEST HAM WIN - INCORRECT

That's the spirit! Though you'll have to make sure you pick at least seven players he doesn't pick. And then you'll have to make sure Klopp picks them as well. ;)

Sorry I wasn't very Magnanimous in victory last last night.  I was extremely drunk.
