As most of you have already gathered from Barney's reaction above, the penultimate round saw yet another change at the top of the Premier League. It's still far from over, though. However, we are now down to just two candidates, as redman1974 drops out after his second defeat to Ndeyanka in just ten days. Buck Pete, meanwhile, rose to the challenge in a Barneyesque manner, picking up three points with the day's best entry. Barney himself kept an eye on two possible opponents, but failed to outscore either. And while lady luck decided that he would draw against HoinkDoink rather than lose to BoRed, he will still rue the dreaded home advantage rule that cost him the full points. This draw was enough to keep HoinkDoink hanging on until the final day of the season, but MelwoodBoy and redforlife have now secured safety.

HoinkDoink v ollyfrom.tv
Mivi v Buck Pete

tylerjnorton v redman1974
Ycuzz v Kopite1971
As I said above, redforlife is now safe from relegation, as he prevails on head-to-head both against HoinkDoink and in a three-way tie against HoinkDoink and Mivi. However, while HoinkDoink would win on the head-to-head record against Mivi, he would be relegated in a three-way tie. In short, for HoinkDoink to survive, he must win, Mivi must lose, and redforlife must avoid defeat.
At the top of the table, Barney won both his games against Buck Pete, so Pete will need to match whatever Barney does on the final day to clinch the title. If Pete wins, the title is his, if he draws, Barney needs a win, and if he loses, Barney needs a draw.
And to spice things up, Buck Pete faces Mivi on the final day, while Barney faces the (still) reigning champion, so I guess it's safe to say there won't be any match-fixing going on.
