His jeans they proved he was a red,
He jizzed, he jizzed
Up on our history he's read,
Then jizzed and jizzed
We bought the lad for 32,
And hope he's gonna score a few
Christian Benteke
He's covered his jeans in jizz

It's not paint Raul...

Welcome Christian as hope you do well.

It will be interesting to see how the team changes to blend him into the team and visa versa. Hopefully we see a little less 30 pass moves and try to use his strength & pace a little quicker as sometimes last season we looked like we needed to move the ball up the field in 2 yard increments. He will add some well needed strength to the side as we are still quite light weight and really looking forward to a potential partnership with Sturridge.

He seems very two footed which is nice. The goal they show a lot against United was pinged in nicely on his left, the free kick against QPR was with his right which presumably is his favoured foot.
I also liked the number of goals where he passed the ball into the net, rather than thrashing wildly and hoping. (deliberately didn't watch any goal compilations until it was officially done!)

Welcome Chris! Happy with this now it's done, and hopefully he'll rack up the goals early on.

I caved and had a quick trawl through Villa Talk.  :lmao

They seem to genuinely hate us! Which is pretty funny in itself as I don't think they've ever been on our radar in one way or another! One even referred to us as "Liverplop"  ;D

But enough about them, can't wait to see him line up in a red shirt, and hopefully he'll adapt well to us and Coutinho/Firmino/Lallana can give him plenty of good service.

to be honest - I really do hate villa and have done for years. they always seem to let utd beat them and their fans are awful. I remember when they beat us at anfield a couple of years ago, some villa fan called in talksport - made up with the result but it was only liverpool so shouldn't get carried away! I hate them and hope they get relegated.

Lot's of people have their say on twitter, here etc.  Sometimes from idiot, sometimes just from concerned fans. It's understandable. But I've no doubt the reception he'll get from the Kop in his first Anfield game will be brilliant.

The kop won't have any issues with Benteke himself. He's earned himself the move. Not to say there won't be consternation, I just can't see it being aimed his way.

Besides, we'll all be preoccupied telepathically wishing that greedy gobshite who earned his dream move 3 minutes closer to London to give grief to any of our own (I hope)

I've said my part on how I think there was much better value elsewhere, but now that he's a Liverpool player I really do hope he can bang in the goals for us.

It will be interesting to see though, what happens when Sturridge comes back.

There's a lot of Villa 'haters' out there . People question £32.5m , but if it send Villa down then in my book,it's money well spent.

I was so against him from the day we got linked but there`s something about players putting on that beautiful red shirt it changes everything and it makes me like them instantly. You simply can`t fight or resist it and now I can`t wait to see him play for us and how our new-look attacking unit will work.

One thing I`ll say though, front 3 of Firmino - Benteke - Sturridge are not shabby at all even when compared to any other front 3 in the league.

I find it odd.  Is it the fact the media seem so obsessed with our club?  Even after City won the title, most of the talk in the papers was about our season.  Every transfer rumour involves either LFC or MUFC, seemingly.

To be fair is it any different to how we reacted to Manchester City poaching Raheem?

Its football, rationality doesnt ever come in to it.

Whatever anyone says, LFC are a huge global brand. I'd doubt whether Villa is even a huge brand in the Midlands.

Think there was a huge difference to how Sterling left and the reactions after than how Benteke left and the aftermath reactions.

Most on here were happy to see Sterling leave and laughed at City for paying such a ridiculous price. Villa fans are sad to see Benteke leave and are slagging off Liverpool.

He fell in love with Villa whilst researching for his role in Castaway. Apparently he moved to Birmingham to experience how it felt to be miles and miles from civilisation.
