Any one that's got an issue with the fee needs to bury their caution, I think we're buying better than our other "big" strikers over the last 20 years and although I was very uncertain during the last few weeks I'm now extremely optimistic. We have to regard the fee as irrelevant and contextualise all transfers this Summer.
I'd certainly rather be entering the season with him than without him. I'm positive he'll be a contributing addition - unlike other strikers we've got on our books. He adds dimension, power, height and a genuine bullying ability that we've lacked recently albeit we didn't need it when we had Suarez.

Good luck lad, hopefully you won't need it and you'll settle in brilliantly - we're desperate for you to.
Don't need to hand wave. Fee is market price. This is what a good striker costs now. This is Suarez or Torres money plus a few years "football inflation" that's it.
I fell in love with football as I would later fall in love with women: suddenly, uncritically, giving no thought to the pain it would bring

I'm quietly pleased. I've got a feeling that he's going to surpass some peoples expectations. Welcome Christian, TF you won't be playing us this season.

He's already worth 6 points to us this season :D

This has been such a protracted pursuit that it brings few doubts in terms of what Rodgers wants to do with him. There's clearly a plan. This isn't a last minute buy designed to placate impatient fans.

Nobody knows for sure if it's going to work but the signs are positive. I'm pleased.

Welcome.  :)

Get him on penalty duty immediately.

I don't actually think his penalties are that great really. He's missed a few being cute and trying to roll it in. One of the things I didn't like about his game.

Be great if he performs in a similar way that he has done at villa. Hope we get to see the same performances that he produced against us at Anfield on a regular basis.

I think he will do mate. At Villa he had almost no service, if you see his goals, they're nearly all great goals that he's created for himself. A few headers from crosses but generally speaking. In a team with better players that can create for him there is no reason when he can't create his spectacular goals and score the poachers ones put on a plate for him.

I think you'll love him.

I didn't want him and I don't really now either.

But, welcome to the club. Liked his last comment to the fans, although they're usually just soundbites. Hope he fits into our way of working and bangs in 20+ goals and shuts me, as well as the other doubters, up.

The fee is a distraction for glib onlookers with nothing interesting to say.

The PL is swimming in dosh, unseemly amounts. It's pouring in. £32.5m is not the fee it appears to be.

"Welcome Christian, had you heard of Liverpool before you signed?"

"Yes.

"What kind of things did you hear?"

"Liverpool is a red team and I like Anfield."

"Do you like football?"

"Yes."

"Good, because you're going to be playing football a lot in Liverpool this year! What do you think of Anfield?"

"Very big"."

"Istanbul?"

"Yes."

"Special place isn't it?"

"Melwood"

Oh god, these interviews are dreadful aren't they. "So just how special is it to play at Anfield"?. "Coming to a huge club like Liverpool with all their history, what does that mean to you"?

Goals, goals, goals galore in a season where we finished second and if truth be told we were light in the squad depth.
Lack of goals and we finish sixth the following season.

Now we have added real quality depth - Clyne, Milner, Gomez & Firmino and we have the goals in Origi, Ings & Benteke. Add that to our new coaching and I am very optimistic that last year was a blip and not the norm. We will be better than last season.

Welcome Christian.

Made up this is all finally signed and sealed. The man is a goalscorer and a very good one to boot.

May as well leave my favourite gif as a convincer -

such a good goal that, I am so excited to see the big man up front. About time our attack had some real presence about it. He is genuine quality.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Correct.  With TV money and sponsorship money growing at a huge rate, transfer fees and wages will also grow.  The Sterling fee, the Stones fee all prove this.
