Hate all their diving antics but you know what fair fucks to them

When the draw for the groups came out barely anyone gave them a chance of progressing but they were impressive and although they're now out, they gave a good account of themselves against a very strong Juve side (which i feel way too many are talking down extremely dramatically). Still in disbelief I saw someone claim they wouldn't make top 4 in the Premier League

They're a strong side with some wonderfully gifted players in their squad. I do wonder what will happen to them if Pochettino does get tempted by a big foreign side or their big players start looking towards silverware or money

This is not the time for rational posts like this! They are cheating bastards though and have turned diving into a defined tactic

Not very classy to be honest, but what I'd expect from them.

He was a classy as can be in the interview to be honest. Never said it maliciously just being honest about how prepared for the game. They knew they would get a chance or two and took them.

Nah, they're diving cheating fucks and their fanbase have been acting like they've won the league ten times in a row just because they've had a couple of 'not as shit as we usually are' seasons.

Fuck 'em.

:lmao

Fair play, every fucking fanbase does that overrating their side shite though to be fair, how many seasons have we been 2 or 3 players from challenging/winning it? I live right next to London so i know loads of their fans and a lot of them seem to just see it for what it is, improving but need to start winning things

No this is not fair. He didn't say that exactly, something like that but speaking in broken English. He was basically saying tottenham play very well but don't have the experience to take them over the line. Comparing PSG and Madrid last night.

He was actually very classy and very nice speaking about his friend also.

That's fair enough then, it wasn't put like that by others.

Bollocks mate. They’ve been in Europe for 11 out of the last 12 seasons but have never got past the quarterfinals in either competition. They need to decide if they’re a big club or the ‘new Arsenal’ - raking in the corporate dollar in a new stadium and winning fuck all.

but that's cos people don't watch other leagues enough, if they did, they'd have known Spurs would have been one of the 2 favourites to qualify. People see 'Dortmund' and still thinking of Kloppo era Dortmund. They are not at that level these days, and of course didn't have anywhere near as good a coach in the group stages as they had both in Klopp in the past and Tuchel last year.

Spurs did well winning the group, so fair play for that, but they and Pochetinno still have a lot to learn in Europe especially.

The substitutions of Asamoah and Lichtsteiner changed the game. They offered energy and width which Spurs didn't really deal with until it was too late. By the time Juve had taken the lead they'd dropped deep to restrict space and they were happy to see Spurs play the long balls up to Kane and then Llorente.

I wanted Tottenham in the next round because I feel like there is some unfinished business there from the games in the league this season but I'm fucking made up they are out. My Dad was taking the piss before, saying how they come up with records for all kinds. "When Harry Kane eats bread on a Wednesday Totthenham have never lost."

I wonder what record they will come up with now for the darlings of London?

You've just reminded me that Bayer Leverkusen finished top of their Champions League Group in 2004 which contained Real Madrid, Roma and Dynamo Kyiv and we comfortably knocked them out in the next round. It's nice to finish top of your group but I'm not so sure it's something to hang your hat on - although I suppose, if that's all you've got like Tottenham, then it's you'd milk it for all it's worth.

This thread is funny tonight. I have tears in my eyes laughing. And to Spurs - i’ve been praying for this ever since that Lamela floppy dive. Cheats deserved nothing better ...

European Cup is for the experienced big boys. Going into the final once - that’s no experience. Winning 3x - maybe. Winning 5x - that is a truly, experienced, big club in Europe!
