nice to be nervous about league matches again, well for the right reason anyway
I know what you mean. For a couple of years I personally had lost that nervous feeling before big games - I had lost that enthusiasm because of what had happened because of the previous owners and Hodgson, and also Purslow. It went away for a while. But I'm so glad I seem to have got it back recently.

Kolarov is playing for them. That is good news for us.

Lescott playing too + no Aguero

Cissokho is pretty pacey though isn't he, may work in our favour. Think he can do a job but will need protection. Make or break game for him because if he doesn't play well, can't see him being used much more. He'll be fired up.
He isn't up to playing at this standard, I would be surprised if he lasted the game.

The line up is exactly as expected really, it would have been a big ask to put Smith into a game of this magnitude.

I really hope we can isolate Sterling against Kolarov as I think he'd cause him all sorts of problems.

Don't really have many other options though do we? Johnson left back and play Kelly but I think I'd rather Johnson link up on that right hand side. We would have all been moaning if a youngster was called up, especially in a game like this. Cissokho has played in big games before, he hasn't lost all talent and ability overnight.

If we lose we go fourth, if we draw we stay third and win go back top. Everton losing today takes some pressure off as even if we lose we will still be in that top four.

Worst case scenario and we're still in the top 4. Let's go and play with no pressure and attack and press them from the off.

1st goal is important.  I believe in our last two games against City we have scored first.

how can fans question cissokho and be happy when johnson plays???for me john/ciss same as both lack the proper defensive nous to be considered top class defenders.

Agreed. Although they have been scoring early goals for fun recently, so keeping them out for the first half hour will give us an edge psychologically that other teams haven't had.

I hope at some point this evening we get chance to see the fastest man in the division take on the slowest.
U21 lads were ghosting past him. Does not bode too well. Hopefully he sits back and doesn't try to join the attacks too often.

Looking forward to this.

And, hey, entering the day at the top of the table. That's the place to be.
