Didn't think it was a terrible foul myself, but going by the letter it was a red.

Don't expect the FA to follow the letter though. Fully expect them to allow Kompany to return sooner.

Red card upheld.

"An Independent Regulatory Commission has today dismissed a claim of wrongful dismissal from Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany following his red card for Serious Foul Play in The FA Cup Third Round tie between Manchester City v Manchester United on 8 January 2012.

Kompany will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect. The suspension consists of a statutory three-match suspension for Serious Foul Play plus one additional game given this is Kompany’s second dismissal of the season."

Big blow for them, along with their other absentees. Reckon we could get a result there tomorrow, Carroll should have a field day up against Lescott and that skinny gimp Savic.

As much as I'm happy for him to be out of the games against us, he's had a fantastic season, can't help feel it's just another sorry step towards tackling being fazed out of the game

Agree with this, we need to start taking our chances. The 3-0 loss showed we could control the game but the lack of cutting edge was appalling. If we could address this against a Kompany-less defense we will have a good chance of getting to the final.

I was thinking about that myself as well as the amount of time he took to leave the pitch. The FA usually chuck in another game suspension for a frivolous appeal as well.
