I can’t stand the little prick, but he’s gave kids who would never be able to afford a ticket for game at Wembley a great day out. So I’ll give him credit where it’s due

I really like Sterling and wish him personal success and professional failure.
Maybe the group, led by your leadership, will see these drafts as PR functions and brilliant use of humor

This.

I'll boo him for the theatre of football when he comes to Anfield due to how he left, but he's seemingly an alright lad.

I kind of blame his agent for those interviews on the BBC back then. Like... pick your fucking moment, Raheem. I think he was a total penis but Aidy Ward was advising him. I actually think Sterling's turned out all right as a human being in the intervening years. He was definitely on a trajectory to being an unmitigated twat.

On another subject, I regret to inform you that they are now literally posting Anfield attendance figures over at BlueMoon.

(I'm not joking. They actually are.)

Of course they are, we're inside their fans, manager and player's heads. It is good to see.

Are they still banging on about empty seats? Surely the game is up, we all know what they're up to.

The last article written states they were claiming around 7,500 more people at their games than actually turned up. That's 7,500 paid for tickets, every single game. 7,500 people paying for their tickets and not bothering turning up every single game.

It actually looks like it has become worse since those numbers were released.

What's the reason man city fans? Guardiola's style of play and tactics are so dull and boring, thousands of fans are turning away from the game in disgust. The Boring One managing the boring ones? The greatest team to ever play the game?
Or have the slave owners found another way to circumvent the FFP rules which they agreed to abide by for them to be allowed take part in competitions, like the majority of other football clubs.

Or perhaps both?

Good luck with the almost 10,000 seat expansion that the slave owners have planned. We all look forward to seeing nearly 20,000 empty seats week-in, week-out, you absolute embarrassment of a football club.

Wonderful gesture.

HOWEVER, how the fuck was he able to buy 500 tickets for a semi final, anyone else and they are like gold dust.

Missus works with 3 City fans, all on brewsters and yet none of them go the game, give it large all the time though.

The company I work for has a box and also 200 season tickets at Old Trafford for corporate entertainment. I'm sure there will be a few companies in Abu Dhabi who have done the same at the Etihad. Maybe they struggle to get flights, hence the empty seats??  ;)

While we all wouldn't like to see City docked points to an extent that we Liverpool win this and the Rodgers league title that way, I've come up with a good compromise:

The problem is spoiling an exciting end to the season, so the solution should be that instead of docking a few points for each of these seasons, to rather add them up into something like 10 points in total and they start next season -10.

That way we know from the start what the objectives are, in that they'd probably need around 97 points - 10 = 87 at least to win the title, and about 90 - 10 = 80ish to qualify for the UCL again.

On top of that I'd give them a transfer ban and a sizeable fine of about 100 million. The latter they will  be able to afford anyway.
Following Liverpool since the mid 80s.

But there's some justification in their comments about affordability. League matches at Anfield were about £25 back in 2000/01 so it was a lot more affordable to go to more matches. Plus the cost of living has increased at a faster rate than wages over the last 10+ years which are putting a further strain on people's disposable income. Match going fans are being shafted significantly more than they were in 2000/01 so you're not really comparing like for like.

They've been pulled up on the FA cup semi though, not league or CL games away from home, while the ticket prices and travel costs (didn't they put subsidised travel on to Wembley?) are robbery it's still only a small number of people who're affected by the 4 trips to London in a fortnight, no idea what the allocation was but if it was 40k and they have the usual core of 2.5k/3k who travel everywhere then you'd be looking at 37k having a one off day out, if their away sales aren't a closed shop and they have more semi-regulars who pick and choose their away games then the percentage who do all 4 is even lower

It's a bollocks excuse by a tin pot club, like that fucking song they sing they really are the invisible man

In any sport, where the winner is subsequently found to have cheated, they have all titles stripped, this lot should be the same if found guilty of cheating. Most people don't remember how Inter won titles due them being stripped from others and I wouldn't give two fucks if we were handed titles due to them being stripped.

Either they can't afford the tickets or they're buying tickets and not showing up. Can't have it both ways.

At Anfield if you can't get to the match you can probably find someone who can use your ticket.

This is almost exactly what happened at Munich.

Bayern were pretty much guaranteed to win everything domestically, but the football was rote, anodyne and sterile. Even Bayern's core fanbase expressed waning interest and passion.

And, as with his time at Man City, Pep got found out there whenever his side got even a challenging UCL draw. If they get Ajax in the UCL semi after Spurs roll over and show their tummies, they'll have gotten a route arguably even easier than Real Madrid's stroll to the final against Atletico a few years ago.

With everything that has come out about their dodgy dealings and accounts via the leaked emails, it has a lot of people scratching their heads wondering when will their offices get raided.

Points deductions and fines should be the least of their worries.

I can't believe people keep accepting this at face value.
Thats not a criticism of SW because all he does is comment on the reported numbers.
My issue is that the reported numbers don't tell the entire story of what they pay players because of the complex corporate structure City use.

I can’t make my mind up whether I’d prefer that or for us to win it clean. But alas, it’s not happening. They’ll doubtless either get a ‘fine’ for cheating or nothing at all because they’ve already paid ‘fines’.

At the end of the day, if we win the title precious few non-Liverpool fans will ever regard it as legitimate. So whilst of course I want us to win it "clean", whatever maximises rival fans' fewm is fine by me. :)

FSG have always stressed that FFP was an intrinsic part of their strategy for Liverpool's growth.
In the 8 years they have been here we have all witnessed their professionalism, it's a key factor in us being where we are now.
Our influence behind the scenes also has surely increased during that time.
So, personally, I very much doubt they are truly saying, oh, well, behind the scenes. This is an investment being damaged by cheats.
The more points we gather, the more our claims have weight.
So, again personally, I expect something to happen.

The big threat, obviously, you gain some allies, and walk away, set up on your own. The TV money will always follow the biggest clubs, and it's been on the cards before.

I'd like that. All leagues should bin off the financial steroid freaks. They could make their own corrupt league and endlessly play themselves and buy their own meaningless trophies.

The rest of us doing it legitimately could then get on with competing rather than trying to overcome cheating. It's an absolute travesty that these people have been allowed to hijack the game the way they have been. It's a travesty every time the likes of Abu Dhabi and Chelsea lift a trophy ahead of a club competing legally. It's also absolutely damning on the reputation of the game and those at the top letting it happen.

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long, and you've burned so very, very brightly, Jürgen.

Not including the load they shifted onto the parent company, or the dodgy payments they make from elsewhere.

I'm glad Liverpool are good enough to challenge for the title without cheating.

I doubt many City fans are arsed how their owners have behaved behind the scenes or if anyone respects their achievements, won't like being called cheats though. Cheats.

I think they are very arsed.  It's why they are so touchy and defensive about anything vaguely negative said about them. They are a very sensitive fan-base, who have a stock answer ready for all the valid criticisms that come their way. They absolutely hate it, as winning knowing that they get very little respect for it really bothers them.

They are absolutely paranoid about how they are viewed within the media too, thinking they are all against them, which is hilarious to me, given the easy ride the club and manager gets consisdering their owners, and considering how much distrust there is in how they run the club.

I've never really seen any of their fan-base questioning the owners cheating, plenty kick off being accused of it, sometimes ends in Heysal being brought up. Maybe some are a little worried something meaningful will be done about it, but confident the threat of legal action and a corrupt organization being bought off stops anything becoming official that they are Cheats.

They're arsed all right.  You can see how desperate they are for validation.  They want their success to be legitimised; they want to be loved and respected and feared.  They are the Donald Trump of football - still banging on about how nobody predicted they could win and how they had the biggest crowd size ever.  They're begging for a rivalry with somebody, anybody.

It's no fun striding to title after title when you have no history and no deep roots to justify your success.  you need somebody who can at least challenge battle - but never quite good enough to win it, just so you feel you might have earned the win a little bit.  But when there's a competitor you just can't shake off, who keeps coming back, it's not fun anymore.   Reminds you far too much of where you came from - and where you could easily end up again.

Is right.

They are extremely arsed about how they are perceived. Extremely arsed about how this success was paid for.

Google Sheikh Mansour's brother Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Just don't bother watching the video, it's horrible. They know this, and they know that all this is not normal, is without any historical precedent, and they know that their success is steeped in blood and means nothing to anyone else.

It's also absolutely damning on the reputation of the game and those at the top letting it happen.
throw PSG in there, said it before but if uefa let City off with another fine there will be a big swing towards a super league, not just from the boardrooms but the terraces as well as many matchgoing fans of the elite clubs (us/united/arsenal/barca/real/Bayern/juve/milan/inter etc) will be fucked off with uefa for putting restrictions on them whilst blatantly allowing the pisstakers to continue if they pay a small fine before passing go

Is right.

They are extremely arsed about how they are perceived. Extremely arsed about how this success was paid for.

Because they know that it's paid for with literal torture and indentured labour. They know that Sheikh Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is on film all over the internet torturing someone. It's LITERALLY a family of torturers. They know this, and they know that all this is not normal, is without any historical precedent, and they know that their success is steeped in blood and means nothing to anyone else.
its also why many other English fans would prefer city to win the league/CL over us as they all know deep down city’s wins are pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, to be fair it was the same with us when city pipped united to the league

Although to be fair there were a good few, me included, who wanted Dubai in who are hardly angels, although that’s in a significant part down to who we were owned by then
