After the non-shock, anger and resentment, its time to look positive.

We slaughtered Real at home and the Mancs away, no team in world could have touched us.

The first Chelsea game is only 3 away, we need to keep the current momentum going against Villa and Fulham.

A clean sheet in the first leg is a must, even more important than winning 2-1 or 3-2 etc. If we can take a lead no matter how small to Chelsea, we can get through. Then we'll have the glamour semi, 2nd leg at home - BRING IT ON.
Has no opinion as it is normally wrong.

All depends on how we cope with injuries, if the likes of Nando, Stevie and Alonso/Masch
the spine of the team are lucky enough not to miss the big games then we have as much chance as anyone.
We have Yossi to come back, a much stronger left side with Aurelio/Dossena/Insua
as options and hopefully Riera/Babel can keep working hard and producing the goods.
Teams are afraid of us, and we know how to grind out results.

Fuckin hell mate, after reading that I feel like walking to Rome right now!  ;D

We can kill the game at anfield 2-0 or even 1-0 and then play on the counter at the bridge its only a disadvatange playing the 2nd leg away if you cant make the 1st leg count we played it to perfection against inter last season.

There'll be more stirring stuff than that posted!
I have a had a feeling all season that we are going
to have a real push for No.6.

Parry out, Stevie's case dropped,Rafa's contract, double over the mancs,
crushing Real Madrid, title charge back on if only just, it's a good time to be a Red!

We're on a mission to Rome!
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

We can finish the game at Anfield IMO. It's great that the second leg of the semi will be at home, if we get through

At first glance it seeems a bit sickening that we have got a difficult route and the Mancs have got it easy. However, you do not have to look back very far through this competition to see that things do not pan out the way most people expect them to.

You can cite Benfica as a team we thought we would beat and didn't whilst we have been written off by most neutrals in games against Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Real Madrid (getting dewy-eyed just thinking about these). Also, look at Porto against Man Utd in 2004, or PSV's displays the year after, or Leverkusen in 2001.

We can worry about the Mancs if we get them in the final, but until then they are not worth bothering with. And while you have to respect the teams that block the way to number 6, we should not fear anyone.

After all...we are the number 1 side in Europe

fabregas back, arshavin looking very tasty, walcott terrorising evra..... (trying to ignore their defence).

arshavin is not registred to cl because he played for zenit early in the competition.

but i'm not kidding, arse is tough and with their classy players returning, united need to show their best

The Mancs must be fuming, we got the easy side of the draw. Why is it easier? Because these teams have to face us!

This will be our 3rd final in 5 years, our second win in 5. We are the Kings of Europe, time to take back our crown from those pretenders.

Let's win this right after getting number 19, send the Mancs home crying.

Don't worry about having to win 2-0 or 1-0 or anything. Whatever we do at home we are well capable of going there and winning, which we will do. Then we'll beat Bayern in the semi and Arsenal in the final. No fucking worries.

As long as we don't conceede an away goal, we should be ok at the bridge.

The thing is we've shown we can go there and score so not the end of the world
if they managed a score draw at Anfield, we almost took a lead there last year,
if we can manage that this time, whether they score or not, it will give us the momentum
we need and we can do it I think.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Really only worried about Masch missing 1st leg and probably a slug fest with  extra time v Chelsea .. with the league in mind ;)

Not to worried about 2nd leg away from home after beating utd 4-1 , plus it maybe a new approach for Rafa in the 2nd leg .. keep them guessing ;)

Horrible draw. Nothing but tough games at every stage for us although I can see us scoring at the Bridge they are gonna be tough encounters and Gerarrd and Torres already have a yellow card which may make the clashes even trickier.

That said, our PL fixtures aren't too bad as we have 7 days to prepare for Arsenal after the 2nd leg with Chelsea. The only toughie is Hull away leaves us 2 days to prepare for Barca/Munich away. But we've done harder things.

But look on the upside folks, we're the home team for the final   :wave
