No I don't.

Could it not be something to do with the tarmac resurfacing of the perimiter road?   Is there actually 'building work', or is the compound just storing vehicles etc?

Which area of the park is the compound in?

What building works mate? As Richie says I only know about the resurfacing which is absolutely trouble free currently.

Thank you. So I now know the company was called 'Northern Manufactuing'. Looks like no.s 9 to 11 freemasons row from that image. Just need to know where 9 - 11 would have been and we can work out where the foundry was.

There seems to be remarkably few photo's of that station in operation.
The best are probably here.
I do remember when passenger services stopped in late '60, and as a kid was quite miffed as my Mum & Dad had never taken me on a train from there.
I think they were largely Prairie tanks (might even have been the occasional class 3) pulling a couple of maroon non corridor coaches but also the odd green and whiskered DMU.
The line itself stayed very active for a good few years after though, with various steam and diesel hauled goods & coal diagrams around every 15 minutes in both directions.
Once steam finally finished in '68, Liverpool was one of the final places, and with the decrease in demand for house coal for heating as well and the shifting of everything to the container docks,  the traffic dwindled and the line became a lot less used, got reduced to a single track sometime in the early 70's and then was lifted in '79.
Would have made a good route for a light tram network.

Why does that structure have a arch below?

Is it an old waterway?

The clue is in the name....West Derby Railway Station.
The arch carries the road over the bed of the old railway track, which was removed when the line closed.

I don't know how to do screen shots, but John, if you go to the end of this close at it's junction with Mill Lane, the building in question is right facing you (zoom in to street view), next to the bust stop, and next to the Bill Shankly playing fields.

The dissused railway track is the route 62, running North to South across the screen.

Great minds think alike, Tsar.  I was prepering a couple of dozen photo's last night of pubs, to post up later.

That ones ^^ racking my brains.  I don't recognise the pub, but I'm sure I recognise the building but one, next to it.
I'm also trying a little bit of detective work, in the camber of the street to the direction of the sun - it would have to slope away from town centre, slightly -  plus the hotel or theater in the background - ....TZPA...    Ritz Palace? or something similar.

Still working on it.  ;).

St. Johns Lane Richie. roughly where Tso's is.

The pub is the Trojan's Head and the part of the sign in the background is from Fitzpatrick's fruit merchant in Queen's Square.

Thats one of the first places I thought of, because of the angle of sun, and camber of the road.

I just couldn't square that shot, with the Pearl Assurance building (Tso's/Dr.D's)

I just didn't recognise it, because I never remember seeing it before.

Ya sod, ya.

ACHP.  get on google, and look for St.Oswalds Gardens, or Hoult's corner.

There's a fair few photo's out there, but a lot are protected, in places like flickr etc.
