You must have came on in a different time than me then. I saw 7 padlocks.

It's normal for topics used as a proxy for in-game posting to be temporarily locked mate. They are re-opened after the final whistle.

What some consider draconian moderation during games is really just a response to what many asked for - a reduction in the amount of absurd and reactionary bile.

Yeah and the worst of it is I would do anything to get that old feeling back, but what the hell. Ah well I'm getting some kip early start tomorrow rugby world cup followed by the grand prix, maybe I have found my new vocation as a couch spectator.  :)

The problem is Terry all that business has altered some people's perception of what the club is now. Even now I sometimes feel in despair of where we are, to me everything is now lip service. They'll play the game especially now Kenny is back, the fans are one with the club now, yeah whatever. Well how come we still get treated like shit, incompetent ticket office staff, prices going up. I am sure I'll get some stick for saying this but this is what happens when you open your door to foreign owners who have little connection with the local fan base. I'm fed up of various people telling me how great the owners are, I mean how do we actually know, I will wait until I have seen our accounts before coming to that conclusion, after the last cowboys we had in.

One thing I would thank them for mind you, is if they actually did something about our bloody rubbish ticket office, who I have recently had a "disagreement" with, and once I have calmed down they will be getting a letter from me.

Sorry to be over-grumpy but that is how I feel about this club still, I feel as disenchanted as I did the last few years. I wish I could instantly feel everything is okay with the world now Kenny is back, but to me football in on the road to ruin still, fed by greed and too many millionaire players who have been spoilt by too much media attention, money and adulation by people who can never see any wrong, even when they do wrong.  I said in another thread why do so few footballers now go into managment, probably because they know players now rule the roost in too many clubs, so instead they join up with Sky where they can claim that they know it all, even when they actually know fuck all.

I'm not an arl arse. I'm not even a scouser but I find this thread one of the best threads to lurk on.

The post I've quoted is a cracking post. Honest and in some ways, sad.

You know it might actually fucking work...

Or, this thread might have stayed a sticky on main forum. Then the young'uns might read a bit of it.

It's alright saying that Jonathan but when people say something that doesn't fit the party line, it's censored. I'm not slatting RAWK. I love the gaff, and I know you lads have your work cut out at times. But last night when I clicked on here, there was at least 7 closed threads on the front page. I comment on it in here, this thread gets sent to the twighlight zone. ???

Everyone of us in here knows what the site done for the club. The likes of me gets the back slapping, and I'm the first to say that's out of order. We all know we couldn't have done the things we did without having RAWK to organise ourselves on. I don't think anyone will ever forget or deny that. But do we really have to censor people so much? Some people post some very good stuff out there. In fact, I only got out there to read certain posters. I don't like to see someone slagging off the club, or this site, for no reason. But I don't come on here to just read whitewashed threads. I think RAWKs bigger than that and doesn't have to toe some party line.

As for the thread being moved, it doesn't seem punishment to me. We very rarely talk football in here, anyway. As for moaning.... what the fuck do you expect, we're old!

That's a matter of opinion though, Kev. I'm not even telling granma how to suck eggs. I understand the need to cut some of the crap. But the problem is, one man's crap is another's treasure. There's a few people on here, I can't stand. I'm sure there's a lot more who can't take me. So, I know it's difficult. But I think the site and the club is big enough to cope.

Pheeny, that's the thing, the thread was never really about football, it started out with a few of the lads and girls recalling some of their experiences when it used to get scary at the match then it meandered all over the place with a bit of music, a bit of this and that and occassionally a bit of moaning and a bit of football. It could of been moved anytime since it's start. It's got to 400 pages with out being moved and I personally liked it where it was because it was convienient because the Liverpol sections where I go the most but I can still find it stuck out in off topic sensible discussion and  can accept that. Leo,

When i clicked on yesterday evening, there were two closed threads and one of those was a stickied one. We're damned if we do and if we don't.

Unfortunately with the amount of threads and posts we have to deal with (and unfortunately have to read) sometimes it is far easier to completely close a thread either for good or to give us a chance to clean up the absolute rubbish that has been posted.

I don't think we censor that much to be honest, at times on certain threads a lot gets binned but to be honest it is normally the same people posting the same rubbish time after time (they end up warned or banned after a while)

Oh, and secretly you love our smilies, thats why you posted one ;)

I actually think that some of the decent posters who post in off topic will more than likely appear in here now we've moved it, as some of them had given up on going in the Liverpool forum. Only time will tell mind.

Gents, I think Jon has a good point, it would be nice to have decent threads all over the boards on the site and secondly, I think we all came in here to hide from the masses, not have it on show ;)
We're slowly trying to get better threads more regularly across RAWK and having good threads in each board will hopefully encourage other ones to flourish. But Tony's right, this board used to be the Boozer and this thread would've always been in here.

Fair enough, you lads have to run the site and decide what changes will be good for the site, most of us want improvements to the site and have no problem with you trying new things especially with a bit of explanation, however it did feel like we were put in the naughty corner and the rationale came later, no big deal but that's how it appeared.

I honestly don't know how that smiley got on there. But I wasn't narking either. I meant everything I said... I know RAWK gets loads of gyp, but you only have to look at my post count to see what I think of it. I don't bother with other sites, and I do take breaks from here. Do you lads get a bit of time off? Because it would drive the pope to drink at times. I know that. I actually think some posters are worse than the mods for censoring some people.

I've just spent awhile in the Is Dalglish ruthless thread. Sadly, since H&G, Hodgson and Purslow went west, some people tend to think anything negative amounts to heresy. That's crap. The day we can't speak our opinions honestly is the day the whole site might aswell be shut. I'm content with what's going on at the club. I think Dalglish being hired was the only thing that stopped civil war. I'm still gutted how Rafa was treated. I make no bones about that. In my book, a little something died the day we turned crook on him. But I was really happy to see Kenny brought back. The club doesn't exist for me. I want  Dalglish to make the people happy. But I don't think a little truth, as we see it, is going to upset the apple cart. And I don't want to single out any individual posters, but when I see certain people attacking others and questioning their loyalty... well, let's just say, it's sort of ironic. And I some times think the mods are shushing the wrong people.

I guess sometimes certain posters' words that should be left may get hoovered up when we clean up a shite thread, and that's inevitable given our fire-fighting approach (other lives to lead, not paid etc usual spiel).
But I would say that RAWK tries to support the club, support the manager and the players and have loyalty to the club but we still have a lot of criticism on the site that is justified and we allow it. What I don't like (just me as I don't speak for all of us) is when players get slagged off instead of criticises and sometimes where that distinction lies gets blurred which leads to some valid posts getting hoovered up when we clean up a shite thread, and that's inevitable given our fire-fighting approach (other lives to lead, not paid etc usual spiel).Have I just said that? ;)

Leo,

Yes we all have time away from the place i think, otherwise we'd go mental. I'll be on and off a lot over the coming year as i have a few courses to do work wise which will take up much more of my free time.

We have to unfortunately treat everyone the same when it comes to moderating, whether we want to or not, however there is usually a bit more leeway from looking at how the people post on the boards. We have a few who are currently on the verge of going purely down to ramming their point of view down peoples throats all the time.
