Really hoping the poor coverage of the academy preseason isn't a sign of things to come for the season. I know we've never been the most open with acadmey stuff but not even a team sheet for the u23s today. Nothing for the u18s recent win either
An assist for Glatzel tonight
1-1 at HT. Frauendorf with the goal. Surely him and Balagizi make the step up to the 23s this season along with a few others? Would expect so with how they stood out last year at 18s level.
So looks like the reason for no u23 game on lfctv is that teams can't show Premier League 2 games at the same time as a live Premier League game. This is from the Manchester United website on their game not being shownhttps://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/under-23s-fixtures-moved-plus-broadcasting-updateWhat a terrible rule. Don't thinks this effects the u18s as City had their game on today which kicked off at 12
Hughes; Gallacher, Clayton, Koumetio, Norris; Morton, Corness, Dixon-Bonner; Musialowski, Woltman, O’rourkeSubs: Kelly, Ritaccio, Stephenson, Chambers. No Gordon, Clarkson, Cain, Beck or Bradley for the U23s against Man City today.
In which case you’d think they’d play u23 games at 3pm on a Saturday.
Is it on TV/lfctvgo or is this another "not allowed to show games whilst PL games are on"?
The latter. One of the Echo journalists is there and posting updates on Twitter, still 0-0 but it sounds like it's been all City and we're just about hanging on at the moment.
Ta mate I don't have Twitter so keep the updates coming please 👍
The Twitter updates are also being posted on the Echo.
Thanks mate but I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than fight my way through all the shit on the echo site.
Finished 0-0, which is a good result given City's quality and the pressure it sounds like we were under.
Just watched the highlights.Don’t know whether there was a big age difference between the sides, but most of their team looked like grown men and most of ours looked like they’d be no more than 7 stone wet through.
Great move for him, he’s at the stage where he needs first-team football now. He’s a Blackburn fan as well so he’ll enjoy getting the chance to play in front of supporters at Ewood Park. He’s a really exciting player, sounds like Klopp and the coaching staff rate him highly, so it will be interesting to see how he develops over the course of the season.
Interested to see how Clarkson does and the role he's given. Don't really get many players of his size and style of play who play as a 6 like he's played here.Balagizi looked ridiculously good against Stoke in the highlights. Really hope we can find room to get him u23 minutes soon
