It's always difficult to project performances on to different matches as players can drag each other down but it's very hard not to feel Anderson would be spending Christmas and New Year at home if he had to tackle De Zwaan first up. This is spanners compared to last night's encounter.

an impossible thing to decide. people always go on about playing the board and not your opponent but nobody ever does.

I did say it's difficult to project but Anderson isn't playing that well here. He's fortunate that his opponent is a no hoper and a low to mid 90s average will see him coast through.

Just come in here specifically to post this but see several have beaten me to it. I don't mind women commentators - if they are good enough. (Ali Mitchell on the cricket is excellent, and I liked Jackie Oakley when she did the footy) But this woman is painful and is clearly there purely for the equality card. I'm trying to think who she might have replaced. Whoever it is it's unfair, because all the darts guys are good.

Someone threw a sponge dart missile onto the stage too which was the thud at the beginning of one or the legs and nobody seemed to notice in commentary. Wade moved it at the end of the set and it was still there at the end of the game
