How about we step back and take a look at this:
Rafa brought him in on a free as a 3rd striker. Since we play a lot of games with one striker and Gerrard behind him, its pretty much a 4th striker.
Slate me if you will, but I really don't think that was explained clearly to Voro when he came here. It seems he was just told that we use a rotation system. Obviously he has the belief in himself to be at the same level as some like Robbie Keane, so obviously he's going to be enraged with the amount of games he got compared to Crouch.
Putting all that aside, he obviously didn't take well to changing countries either. When someone like Torres comes here from Spain, everything is taken care of for him. Its probably in his contract that he has a go-to person at the club who deals with everything for him, right from buying a car, to getting a family doctor. Voronin I'm sure doesn't have this. It makes a move to a different country very hard. Forget being able to concentrate on your football, you can't even enjoy your daily life.
Kinda puts a different spin on it when you use a bit of logic eh.
Anyway, I watch Hertha play every so often - and Voro does stand out there. He's got technique, gets into good positions, brings others into play, and is good on the ball. Its a little more clear why Rafa brought him in - he does have something to offer.
That being said, he completely lacks the mentality that Rafa always says he wants in his players. Forget his lack of professionalism, and the fact that he cries to the press about everything, right from rotation to the country's policy weaknesses, but his lack of work ethic shows on the field. He's got a Berbatovesque swagger to him, without the consistent skill to display. If you're a decent player who wants to get away with that kind of playing style, without contributing 20+ goals a season, well Hertha Berlin is probably the right place for you.
