best league performance for about 4 years i would say. real top draw and it gives us all the belief now that this is our season. i think a lot of credit has to go to the fans today. great atmosphere for a 12.45 kick off in the league. keep the atmosphere up all season at anfield and we'll win it in may. all the lads played well today. some criticism for kuyt from some people but he helped get the win and assisted babel. riera had a great debut. my heart rate is slowly dropping back to normal speed

Legend.

See what it means....

He's so good that he has four arms...!

Like someone said in the early pages of this thread, it has been a long time since i know what this feels like.

And we played beautifully, Keane did well to drag the druglord and his serbian counterpart (correct me if I'm wrong) for Babel's sweet sweet drive.

Defence was brilliant, except for that one stray backpass. The whole team we're a machine today, a fucking machine.

Proud of Kuyt, even if he didn't score...

What a boost to the lads, they showed everyone how to play a proper game! Lets hope we keep it this way.

Get in SAMMY LEE you nutter!! Heh

Keeping things in perspective this is not the first time in recent matches where we actually deserved something from the game.

About fucking time we had the rub of the green.

If Carlsberg did football matches...

Everyone stepped up a gear today. I thought Masch, Skrtel, + Kuyt were fantastic, if only Kuyt had of stuck away his two chances he would have got what he deserved and been my MoM. Riera looked really good on the wing, an excellent debut. He reminded me of a fit Kewell. His first touch was fantastic and he did some lovely looking flicks that actually worked. Skrtel + JC were dominant at the back. Alonso kept great possession. Benayoun had a great game and even managed to injure Carrick. which was a bonus. I also thought Babel looked different class when he came on. I've said it before but the man is so direct and he was the biggest threat on the field.

Top fucking class.
It is most odd.

when i looked at the teams before the game i thought we would have problems, and i literally arrived in the pub and tevez scores. Pub full of mancs as well.

but we were all over em 2nd half. Without doubt the desire was there. I seriously thought though all the pressure would not pay off and united would nick it at the end.

Best feeling in a long time. If we can use this psychological win to our benefit than i seriously expect us to challenge. Also positive subs from rafa.

I thought he did quite well, personally. Came extremely close on a couple of occasions, Masch's cross and Gerrard's free-kick. His time will come.

I don't understand why Keane gets so much criticism.

He's such an intelligent player, we look better when he plays in my opinion. He's one of those players that you just want to be on the ball because he rarely wastes possession and always picks the best option.

It's a bit Crouchy at the mo - can't seem to put the ball in the net (though it's only been a few games in fairness) but our team play looks better for him being in the side. It's not as if he's missing clear cut chances either, quality player. Keep it up Robbie.

Riera was decent. Looks like a fucking good player.

Kuyt looked decent in the middle, even though he didn't score while Mash and Alonso pissed all over their lot in the midfield.

As for Babel. A product that we will finish, for sure.

last post before I go out.

Masch was man of the match. Even though he's injured his healing factor should help to recover in time for the Champs League. Riera made an impressive debut, look forward to seeing him again. Babel is gonna have a great season good goal from Ryan. Fabio and Yossi had a better second half than the first and played well. Dirk played where he should play for the rest of the season. And Robbie was unlucky to score but played well and had a good game.

Overall a bloody great performance from the Reds. YWNA

Brilliant result, not often the mancs are beaten after going a goal up, and we all know about how many ultra late goals they get to save a game.

Not this time though, a late equaliser today would have left us utterly deflated, fantastic performance.

Take that Ferguson, you're fuckin time is up mate !

I am so fucking happy for Rafa.

Aye. He was under nut-twisting pressure, especially from the c*nts who kept parroting the 200 million pound tired journo attack. Takes some of the pressure off of him from the board, the locker room and the media and gives him something to work on for the weeks ahead. This win was for him.

Fucking amazing, i'm so happy, have not felt this happy over a win since Arsenal last year, we deserved that so much, so proud of our boys.
Reira looked impressive, he is going to be a good buy. The goals will come for Keane, he just needs to keep on going.

I am still coming to terms with it, don't think I've ever made so much noise/given Rafa so many instructions. This includes 05 CL and 06 FA Cup. My exact words were "It's a shame Babel won't get a run, he could really turn this game".
