Logic:

3 points against Newcastle are really really good. Job done.

Fans perspective:

45 minutes against 10 men but zero goal - fooking hell that's annoying. Hahaahha!!

Great result. 2 great goals but poor management against 10 men. Henderson and Fabinho need upgrading in the summer.

That was pretty decent, I liked that. If Diogo had his shooting boots / head on it would have been a lot more comfortable.

This clean sheet malarkey I could definitely get on board with, but maybe the next time we can do it without Ali being the reincarnation of Lev Yashin please.

I never see St Maximin play that well against anyone else the odd times I see such games. An absolute pain in the arse for us and I wonder if it us suiting him or him being inspired?

We could have managed that game better 11v10. We were far too sloppy/chilled on the ball. Thanks be for Allison, again.

But that win puts us right back in the top four picture and we managed to rotate/rest with Real on Tuesday

2-0! In the end a solid win. We were deadly with the chances we had in the first. Somewhat lucky that Newcastle didn,t score on their chances, somewhat unlucky we couldn't score more. In the end an almost perfect game for us. The right players with goals and assists, a clean sheet and we could keep the ball and save some energy.

A lot of the same problems as the rest of this season: passes going to jo one, terrible defending on set pieces, losing duels everywhere on the pitch. The goals were encouraging though, hopefully this lifts the boys for Tuesday.

We win 2-0 away to a team that is unbeaten all season (bar our home match), who don’t concede goals….

And he gives the motm to their striker who doesn’t score ….

Bizarre.

Salah taken out - nothing as per

Sickening...

Not even a yellow. It was a very poor tackle and was a borderline red. I thought Trippier’s tackle on Nunez was bad too but somehow the referee saw it as a free kick to Newcastle.

Somehow Newcastle only conceded three fouls all game and one of them was the red card by Pope.  Even the shitty tackle by Trippier that injured Nunez was somehow given as a free-kick to them.

Ah well, fuck 'em.  Not exactly back to our best but back-to-back wins are very welcome.

Doesn't matter too much, Milner was quite snappy when the came on though 😉

Could have been a red. Scissored him. No yellow for the high boot on Virgil either. Taylor is a disgrace.

Fucking yard dogs.

No could about it, it was a red card every day of the week if that's on someone like Kane. I'm convinced referees are targeting Salah

Well-deserved win. Took our foot off the gas maybe a little more than Klopp would have liked, but the result was all that mattered.

We have Madrid on Tuesday, it makes sense that we didn't go all out, especially considering we had the 2 goals in the bank.

Great result!!

Nice to have a bit of a feel good factor back again. Hoping some confidence and some goals with Jota/Diaz/Firmino coming back, will help paper the cracks we aren’t fixing until the summer.

Keep plugging away and let’s see what we can do with regards to finishing higher.

Great to see TAA and Robertson looking dangerous again too now there are options.

Well, it was 2-0 when Pope got sent off and it finished 2-0.  Also there was nothing fortuitous about the red card incident.  A strange comment albeit one from a died in the wool Geordie.

We played quite ok, but we also had that bit of luck that we've missed so many games this season.

Newcastle have a good attack, but their defense is really average.

Our defending of corners is pretty crap.

Ah well, fuck 'em.  Not exactly back to our best but back-to-back wins are very welcome.
Dreadful referee, also missed the one after the ball on Bajcetic in the first half. Gave Fabinho a yellow after he had already blown the whistle, manc twat should be nowhere near our games.
