Seems a bit like our semi v Palace in 2001.

Different outcome in the final obviously…

But these are not the Chelsea of a few years ago

If I'm sick to death of playing Chelsea in finals, then I'm sure our players are as well - regardless of how good or bad Chelsea are, these days.

Besides, we all know how these tin pot clubs up their game against us. If we make the final tomorrow, you can bet Chelsea will try to grind us into submission. And if the last two finals are anything to go by, we can forget about the officials making it easy for anybody.

It's just tedium and apathy when it comes to playing this lot. But you have to wonder how Boro made it this far. This result is embarrassing. They should apologise to their fans and refund their tickets.

I think we'll beat them comfortably because they are pretty average these days. Let's just play our game.

Would be nice to beat them in normal time this time.

It’s only been two finals against them. Three in 12 years if you go back to 2012. Not that mad is it, for two top sides (well they used to be anyway).

Ah well. If we get to the final, it was either boring horrid Chelsea or Michael Carrick’s
Tricky underdog fairytale.

Prepare for weeks of clickbait about the “worst finals ever” in 2022 should we go through.

If we do make the final I’d say we’re in better shape than in 2022. We’ll have Trent, Robbo, Szobo and Mo back and far more attacking options off the bench for when they get tired. I see tomorrow with a depleted side as a tougher assignment than Chelsea in the final.

Sure but it was early in the season, we're much more better tuned now than the begining of the season, we're playing better and they've been below par for much of the year. No guarantees of course, but we're in good form

It was the 2-0 at Stamford Bridge during Covid, Mane got a brace I think.

Last time with fans in the ground was the 2-1 away win same season but before the pandemic - Trent and Firmino.

Their 9th and behind Man United in the League. I'm just waiting for their cup form to catch up with their league form. Easy for these small, no mark clubs to raise their game in one off matches.

Look at my list. It’s not like the other teams make it comfortable for us either! Not even Cardiff or Birmingham. Arguably not had a straight forward domestic final since 1992 (maybe Bolton in 95, or United in 03 but that one in particular was very tense until the final minutes).
