It took me an embarrassingly long time to work out that Snrub was just Burns spelled backwards.
And I have looked up North Haverbrook to see if it actually exists.

Remember everyone:  Mono means one, and Rail means rail.
And that concludes our intensive three week course.

 ;D

“I've sold monorails to Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook, and by gum, it put them on the map!” ;D

Marge vs Monorail episode written by Conan O Brien, who also wrote another classic Homer Goes to College. ;D

I think Swartzwelder was the Simpsons writer during it's heyday.

He also wrote Homer at the Bat, which for me is the greatest ever Simpsons episode, with absolutely perfect pacing and a non-stop whirlwind of brilliant gags, with an iconic credits scene.

Homer: 'You're Darryl Strawberry!'

Strawberry: 'Yes.'

Homer: 'You play right-field.'

Strawberry: 'Yes.'

Homer: 'I play right-field too.'

Strawberry: 'So?'

Homer: 'Well, are you better than me?'

Strawberry: 'Well, I've never met you... but yes.'

;D ;D Brutal exchange.

Mike Scioscia's breathy replies when he asks will he ever play baseball again is brilliant, fair play to his comedic performance.

What an episode. The 'Rock Bottom' scene is one of my favourite bits ever, it's insane how many great jokes they packed in to episodes in it's heyday

Principal Skinner: Superintendent, I hope you're ready for mouth-watering hamburgers.
Superintendent Chalmers: I thought we were having steamed clams.
Principal Skinner: Oh, no, I said, "steamed hams." That's what I call hamburgers.
Superintendent Chalmers: You call hamburgers steamed hams.
Principal Skinner: Yes, it's a regional dialect.
Superintendent Chalmers: Uh-huh. What region?
Principal Skinner: Uh, upstate New York.
Superintendent Chalmers: Really. Well, I'm from Utica and I never heard anyone use the phrase, "steamed hams."
Principal Skinner: Oh, not in Utica, no; it's an Albany expression.
Superintendent Chalmers: I see.
Steamed Hams might be the pre-eminent Simpsons meme. Some people have done some wildly creative stuff with that format.

Homer: I wouldn't have thought so either, yet here we are.

My girlfriend and I have been looking at houses recently. I think she's starting to get fairly pissed off when we've seen a nice one and I say that line in my best Karl voice.

Sometimes it's wordy, sometimes just pure slapstick genius: Stupid Sexy Flanders

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaeRM7X_yS4

Yeah, my "repeats at any even vaguely relevant opportunity ad nauseum" Simpsons quote is Flanders going "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!". I even do the echo effect and bum wiggle.

A Tory, a worker and an immigrant are sat round a table. There's a plate of 10 biscuits in the middle. The Tory takes 9 then turns to the worker and says "that immigrant is trying to steal your biscuit"

I suppose this place is as good as anywhere to share it. I have a tattoo of ‘stinky Moe’ from the classic episode ‘Bart Sells his Soul.’

A small tattoo on my inner arm of the drawing the boy hands to Moe in his restaurant.

It does indeed have stink lines. Just took a very shoddy picture (it's at an awkward forearm/under wrist position) and looking through how to post now.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in here before.

There's a fantastic podcast called - Four Finger Discount.

2 Aussie guys that go through and review every single episode in chronological order 1 by 1.

Each episode goes for about 60 mins.

Highly recommend it - both have incredible knowledge about the show and there's so many things that even hardcore fans miss or forget about.

Sounds up my alley, thanks.

Some of my favourite ever episodes (favourite being Homer at the Bat):

Homer at the Bat
You Only Move Twice
Bart Sells his Soul
Secrets of a Successful Marriage
Homer Loves Flanders
Cape Feare
Lard of the Dance

There's many more classics, but you show someone those and they are in the presence of greatness.
