I think with Starmer in there will be a thawing of relationships with Europe. I am hoping that the EU may make life a little easier for us, and hopefully a gentle slide to a BRINO will be appreciated by the vast majority.

Have Labour given their opinion on the Rwanda scheme? That seems like a prime target for some scaremongering from the Tories. You can always rely on them to make immigrants an issue and you can always rely on the British public to be swayed by it.
Starmer said the flights will be cancelled immediately

Frottage wont be running or getting involved in Reform stating that the American election is far more important

It is actually pretty bad news as it wont split the tory vote as much as it would have with that c*nt involved
The American election is not until 5th November. Frottage is scum.

They’ve said they will scrap it. Of course Rwanda is a great example of Sunak himself changing his mind. Both he and the current Home Secretary thought it was batsh*t but his Faustian pact with the right wing nutters means he has to pretend it’s a great idea. Car crash politics.

Thanks, makes sense to scrap it but no doubt the Tories and right-wing rags will try to create a whole platform out of it.

One annoyance is the election could have been held 28th June had Sunak called the election 24 hours earlier, you have to give minimum 25 working days notice & theirs 2 bank holidays in the next 2 weeks.

June 28th is a Friday. General Elections are always on a Thursday here.

Does Sunak have ‘kicked out of office’ honours list opportunity?

Maybe the quid quo pro for Monsieur Frog Face would be a seat in the House of Lords - Lord Frottage of Toad Hall perhaps?

During Glastonbury so that would have been prime for him to call an election when theres 250k left leaning voters at one festival but he's so so bad at politics he couldn't even do that.

I really hope people vote tactically, that way pretty much every seat is in play.

Portsmouth North as an example, in 2019 it was 61-27-8 with Greens on 3%

A poll in April has it on a knife edge with Tories 39, Labour 35, Lib Dems, 7, Green 5 and Reform 15, if those supporting Lib Dems and Green use their vote wisely, Missing can be unseated
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

Well, the last time the Labour Party were in power, everything about this county was objectively and measurably better.  And everyone was calling them Red Tories and saying they're all the same.

So even if he's not my cup of tea, I really do think he will be different.

I've shared my indifference/frustration before now with certain aspects of the direction of the Labour Party, but when I compare it to the haplessness coursing through the veins of the current government I'd take it every day of the week.

My personal hope is that the Greens have a strong showing without taking too many votes from Labour, I think seeing a second Green MP in that Bristol Central (?) seat would be a great step but I doubt it'll happen.

Also , isn't a cricket bat a bit Tory? Or did you just not want to mention your croquet mallet?

Yeah I think it'll be a lot different. Read a lot of stuff since Corbyn was proven not to be very good at his job along these lines.

Did you think the UK was fucked under Thatcher with the Tories? Did you think the UK improved dramatically once Labour got back in with Blair? Did you think the UK got dramatically worse since the Tories got back in 2010?

They’ll be better, but then the Tories actively aren’t trying to improve things or create a society worth living in, merely strip it all down to the most basic shitty existence possible for most people in the country whilst extracting wealth upwards. At which they’ve been very successful. So being better than that isn’t a massive achievement.

I really can’t stand Starmer, think he’s a twat and an untrustworthy shyster, but then the bar is so low that even he will still make society somewhat better than another five years of the bastards (you’d imagine anyway - though Starmer’s a man who effortlessly limbo dances beneath low bars on a regular basis). Given the choice of the two, he’d be the better pick. A dismal choice admittedly, but we’ve all seen that this type of hoary old New Labour revivalism, creeping rightwards by the day, is all the PLP itself will ever accept as legitimate and the only type of Labour we’ll ever be allowed. They’ll be pigs in a shit for awhile, until they start being held accountable and realise their meagre offerings barely touch the sides of the hole the Tories have dug us into.

I do dream of this but the problem is my area is so Tory they don’t even bother knocking on the door here, none of the big parties do, it’s usually just the independent candidates in the local elections who bother trying to win your vote.

Then vote Tory.

If you think Starmer will lie to the king to illegally prorogue parliament, break lockdown laws, protect MPs who sexually assault staffers, give billions away in contracts to mates for PPE, discharge sick COVID patients into care homes, allowed the bodies to pile high, bring in immigration laws that break international law, not bring in rules for a duty of candor for public figures, break ofcom rules and host TV shows on GB news, bring in austerity measures that have set the country back for a generation, force through a process that has allowed the UK to be the only country in human history to impose economic sanctions on itself, destroy the care system, NHS, defence, policing, energy security, transport, utilities who pump literal shit into rivers with impunity, call striking judges, solicitors, teachers, doctors, nurses, train drivers enemies of the people, force more people into using food banks in order to survive than ever before, allowed a society to choose between eating and heating, created a housing system with not enough housing, allowed new built flats to have flammable cladding

Hostile environment

Grenfell, Windrush, Horizon IT, Infected blood, Ukraine war, Not calling for immediate ceasefire in Isreal and not recognising the state of Palestine

I can keep going

Then please vote for a party that wont

Why is he (In the context of the UK)

1. A twat
2. An untrustworthy shyster
3. A man who effortlessly limbo dances beneath low bars on a regular basis

It might be useful for those that throw out such accusations that they can qualify it. You said it yourself there, so in the context of the UK - which this election is about, should be easy for you to clearly qualify these things so that everyone agrees, if they are factual and correct.

Mind you, I've been asking this question for a while now and just usually get shouty, angry answers back.

Can you qualify these things fairly and reasonably so that I can understand where you're coming from?

They both went in high, that's factually correct, both tried to play the ball at height.  Doku with his foot, Mac Allister with his chest.

Just heard some GB News clip of an outright Tory-sympathiser (didn't catch the name, think it was a Piers) who admits that Sunak has no hope and the party has to think more about the post-election fallout, he was insistent that they could be saved by one... wait for it.... Lord Frost! Remember him, the "statesmanlike" master negotiator of Brexit? According to this guy, he needs to parachuted into the safest possible seat immediately and given the leadership ASAP (after the election).

I want an election, we desperately need one.  But I also want to see this happen, because it might actually see the, end up with under 100 MPs

I mean, I’ve woken up this morning, and yesterday really happened. He really fucked up that badly.

I think it’s the worst thing I’ve seen since Rudolph Guliani accidentally hired a garden centre rather than a hotel.

I was thinking of Ceausescu's speech at Piata Palatului. Wouldn't grumble at a similar outcome. Hannah Fearn, on Oh God What Now?, described Rishi as looking like a jilted boyfriend standing at the front door with a bottle of Prosecco and flowers, and slowly closing the door on him.

Probably because the Tories are peddling this nonsense. I understand if you don't like the character of the guy, but he hasn't been prime minister so nobody knows how good or bad he might be. Literally can't be worse than Sunak though.
