Rooney is talking a good game, surely time to give him a chance to show what he gleaned from his time at Derby?

Like a fart on his face if he's not even in the conversation for the job.

Only half? Who do you keep?
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

Hmm. Manchester "United".

I thought part of his 25% stake was to make him head of the football side of things. Why does he need "allies"? Doesn't he have final say?

Not with 25%. The majority could always veto him. He probably had to get a Glazer on his side, as they still have overall control.

I'm sure he'd have to clear a decision like this with the rest of the shareholders.

I don't believe for a second "Sir Jim" has got the free hand their dimwitted fans think he does.

Farewell sweet Prince :(

This one's broke, get me another one ;D

We don't yet know if they are definitely sacking him.

I said when they bought in that he was a dead man walking - there is no way, after buying shit like Onana, Antony, Martinez, or past it players like Casemiro and Eriksen and then finishing 8th, going out of Europe bottom of the group and failing to even make the Conference League that he's getting kept on.

Tuchel would be a laugh, he'll have fallen out with everyone by Christmas

Tuchel is probably the best manager they can get, but it could potentially turn into a nightmare knowing his character.

In the more immediate future I hope they concede at least six tomorrow.

I think McKenna’s an excellent coach but it’s way too soon for him. You’d think a job like Brighton would be a better bet if he wants to move.

The luck they've had this season, massively outperforming XG and results better than performances all season, it's laughable they still finish 8th.

If United had progressed in Europe rather than West Ham and Brighton and it's probably 10th.

Like someone on here said ages ago, Man Utd are just reverting to type.
They were like this (i.e. pretty insignificant and a cup team) for a very long time until Ferguson turned them around.
In the 80s they were just a big name with no success.
That's what they've reverted to.

It's hard to imagine if you're a 90s kid, but dems the facts.

They need someone like Klopp to make them soar.
But looks like that's not happening as there's only one Klopp and he chose us.

I don't follow their progress, but strictly off the top of my head after being on MSM, I'd say the only good players they have that would be useful for them to keep would be:
Bruno Fernandes (the only 'world class' player they have)
Amad Diallo (looks like one for the future)
Diogo Dalot (he's been good.... for them!)

I wasnt going to bother with the cup final as it will be a media wank fest whoever wins it especially if the red mancs win or ADFC really batter them. Ive changed my mind now though just in case Ten Hag does something really funny.

If I was Ten Hag theres no way I would quit now and lose any money. I would start the final with 11 shite players (first 11 obviously) then do weird subs like as soon as one of them cocks up (Like Garnacho running fast with the ball then giving it away at the end) taking him off for a full back or someone worse if thats possible. Subbing the subs would be funny too then at the final whistle turn to the big noise seats and give them the finger before walking off. Then sit back and wait for the bank transfer and once that was deposited tell the world what a clusterfuck of a club they were.
Hoping Arne can Slot right in after Klopp

Yeah, but it's hard to continue to fail if you've got a top 3-5 budget in world football every year, regardless of whether you're in the CL or not. Out of Europe next season and they'll spend more than us in the summer and still have a higher wage bill next season.

Historically they're more like the English Barcelona. A poor European history for such a top club and sporadic league title wins outside of one manager (i.e. Barca with/without Messi).

Reckon he's told the club to sack him, you know. Legging it just as a more talented, handsome, and charismatic Dutch manager (coach) without hair comes into the league. Could see it coming a mile off.

You're only allowed 5 subs per game, he couldn't sub shite for shite enough times in the game if he hooked a player after every fuck up.

I'm expecting 5-0 tomorrow, City will roll them as if they were up against Watford.

What is it with United. Moyes, Aloysius Paulus Maria "Louis" van Gaal and now ETH all had speculation about their job before being punted with the latter two before a cup final. It does look like Erik is toast. In fairness his signings have been poor. I think once Ineos came into United he was always on shakey ground. New regimes always install a new manager. I expect City to thump them tomorrow 3 or 4 nil. It would be a miracle of Wimbledon proportions if United beat them.

He was, but a Northern Irish man by identity it's fair to say. I think if he takes the united gig it will ruin him, though he was always a fan of united so he could hardly say no i suspect.. I just can't see it happening, but there seems to be a feeling among some its gonna happen. I don't do twitter and all that shit but i suppose its the feeling there?

How good is this McKenna fella? I know he's done bits at Ipswich and seems highly rated. I've not read up about him

I'm surprised there hasn't been talk that the job is too big for him such is the state of the managerial market. Biggest thing he's got going for him is that he'd be given a bit of time. If Tuchel or Pochettino showed up with no European competition, there would be a minimum expectation of CL qualification. McKenna coming in would give them an opportunity to clear out some of the dross because the expectations would be much lower. That and given how Brexit Jim runs things, he'd be a lot fucking cheaper with far less demands
